Let's all send some positive thoughts up to the clouds that the rain stays away from the tri this weekend! I am so pumped for Jack's - the email said there are 800 people in this race! That seems HUGE for that venue. Should be fun chaos!

Good luck to all the fellow racers out there!!!

I think the Rookie had about 900 this year.

Although the parking sounds like it is going to
be painfully packed for JGT...

See you all there!

Yeah, I hope the rain stays away, but at least they have a backup plan if it does rain. Wow! 800? Really? That is a lot, as I think there were just about 450 last year. The parking does sound like it might be a problem. Anyone want to carpool? I had a friend that was going to do it, but she bailed. DH and I were going to go down separately so he could bring the kids, but it sounds like that might be a problem. If anyone is coming from north Austin (I'm in Cedar Park, so anywhere between here and New Braunfels would work too) and would like to carpool, send me a PM and we can work it out. I have two bike racks on my roof, so I'll have a spare spot, plus one seat left in the van if DH comes along with the kids. Mojo to everyone racing!! I just got back from vacation in Colorado, so I hope I'm ready for this race. I did manage to swim 1000m and run 3x in altitude, so now I'll just get back in the saddle.

Lauren- Are you riding this week? If so, when? I'm planning to do a ride this evening. I sent Kat a PM to see if she can ride with me. I'm obviously not doing a ride on Saturday, but after this tri, maybe I can join your group on a Saturday. I've really got to get my mileage up for this Oly!! Yikes!

There will be a ride back to J&A's after the race. It should be about 40 miles. We'll be leaving after the awards ceremony. This is, of course if it's not raining. But I remember checking the weather for Sunday it said it would be sunny and in the low 90's.

Good luck to everyone on sunday, and I hope that the weather does stay nice. This has definetly been a crazy year here in Texas as far as the weather is concerned. Sounds like the race will be packed, and parking is gonna be madness. Anyhow I hope to meet some of you on Sunday, and hopefully it won't get too hot either.

I'll be there in BT gear.

About the ride back to J&A's. How are people getting down there in the first place? It wouldn't do much good to ride back to Austin if your car is still in New Braunfels!

It's called getting a ride there with someone else. The parking is going to be a big pain so carpooling is a great idea. Catch a ride with someone going down and then ride back.

I'm assuming people's spouses will drive their cars back. I'm not riding after the race. I think I'll take the car! I'm hoping to be pretty tired after a great race.

Hi Kelli!

I would love to carpool to the race - that sounds great! Have you had any takers yet? Am I too slow on the uptake?

I am so on your way too. We live off of Balcones Woods/Floral Park in Great Hills right off of 183.

As to the training this week - my ride tonight is with the Rogue group class. Since it was a paid gig I don't think we can invite friends. I will ask tonight though and see if they let people try it out. I won't do another long ride or run until next weekend, but you should join us for sure.

Also, I am always up for a Tuesday ride around 8:30ish if my work schedule allows, i.e I can sneak away. I work in software and if the developers don't start until 10, there is no reason why a tech sales person can't on occasion!

PM me and we can work out logistics.

I am SOOOO pumped for this weekend! This is the first race where I actually feel as prepared as I can at my own fitness level!

Geez, you're right around the corner from me. I'm off Taylor Draper. You weren't out running on Jollyville this morning around 8:30 by any chance, were you?

Yeah, Taylor Draper is right around the corner. This is such a great area for training - lots of hill work.
