I don't know you Terri, but my thoughts are definitely with you! I'm a fellow survivor. I was diagnosed w/breast cancer in May of 06. Had surgery, chemo and just finished a year of herceptin. It is scary stuff! You are kicking cancers slimy butt with courage and, judging from your pix, a helluva lot of style!

As they say in the danskin tris "You GO GIRL!"

In a related matter...

I am trying to organize a fund-raising bike ride here in VA to benefit the Massey Cancer Center at Virginia Commonwealth University. http://www.massey.vcu.edu/

Target date is fall and it will be a supported 100+ mile loop for the first year. If anyone is interested in coming to ride in the inaugural ride, or to volunteer, please PM me. I will be setting a somewhat lofty fundraising minimum, so be prepared to work hard on the fundraising. My goal is to reach as close to 100% efficiency as possible, meaning, I would like 100% of all rider raised dollars to go to the MCC. No paid fundraisers, low overhead.

The fund we are going to set up will focus on care and research.

This is my way of supporting amazing people like Bunnyrunner.

BTW - that picture of Trix, Bunnyrunner and Q jumping on the beach is one of my fave BT pictures. You could never pose that pic...

Thank you B!  I couldn't ask for a better group of friends to share that moment with.  I am so proud of your strength and perseverence at attacking your PT test at the fire academy the way those chemo soldiers are attacking my cancer!  A big GRRRRRR to both of us!

One more chemo infusion to go on March 13th and then I am done for hopefully a VERY LONG TIME!

Thank you so much to my BT family for all of your strength and support over the last 9 months (and many of your have been with me for over the last 2 years).

Your words of love and encouragement, your prayers and thoughts have traveled to me over many miles to strengthen me and get me where I am today.  Thank you to those you have sent inspires, worn Team Terri to races all over the world, to those who have checked into this thread or to my blog just to read and say a prayer for me, and to those who have been there right by my side in the hospitals and at all my finish lines.   All of that has meant so much.

I have a long road of healing and recovery ahead of me, but I know I can do it because I have people like you surrounding me and championing for me.  Thank you for all of the love you have shown Pete as he literaly picked me up from one of the darkest chapters in my life.  He is an amazing man.

I wouldn't have made it through without my friends and BT family (again thank you to Trixie for starting this thread).  I owe this victory to you as well.  Thank you and keep on trucking with Team Terri and the Irish Scrapper!

Lots of great new to report. My last tumor markers were down to 26, which is a nice relief as I come off chemo. My last treatment was March 13 and now I go on a monthly maintenance plan. I will still be getting Zometa (bone strengthener) and Lupron (hormones) and now they have added Faslodex (estrogen zapper). I will also have tumor markers drawn once per month in order to be monitored very closely. Sometime in the next few weeks I should be scheduled for a CT Scan.

In other good news, Pete (Klondike) and I got married on April 6th. It was spectacular! It was very emotional and a great celebration. I looked like a pretty pretty princess with my wedding hair and fake eyelashes Thank you for all your well wishes. We honeymooned in Disney for a few days and it was nice and relaxing.

Now I will try and return to training. I have a few tentative races on the schedule. I don't know how my training will actually pan out. My body just doesn't want to do what I tell it to do anymore and it takes me twice as long to recover from simple workouts. My big goal is to complete the Half Iron Duathlon in November at MiamiMan (I was supposed to do this last Nov. but had to defer because I was too sick). We'll see how it goes. Team Terri marches on!
