TNT is Team in Training which is part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America. Team in Training provides coaching and travel to and from an event. In exchange for the coaching, you raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I've done a few events for them in the past and each and every time it's been an amazing experience.

I will be attending this race. I've signed up through Team in Training.

Does anybody know what the temperature of the water is in April? Is a wetsuit necessary?

I hope I don't need a wetsuit b/c I don't have one! I remember doing a tri in april in Clermont this past year and it was definitely chillly- but you can survive without one I think.

I looked at the race pics from last year. Didn't see that many wetsuits ( in fact, I don't recall seeing any in the pics ). So based on that I'm assuming it'll probably be warm enough you won't need one. Plus, salt water is more buoyant than fresh-water, so that should counteract the 'sinking feeling' that I get in my legs.

That said, I'll plan on bringing mine down, just in case. If I bring it I won't need it, but if I don't bring it...

This sounds fun! I haven't raced an Oly since in about 3 years, after I had my son I have sort of slacked. This might be just what I need to pick me up! Now, the only trick will be to talk the hubby into it......

Does anyone have approximate costs for this? I saw someone earlier asking, but didn't see replies. Hotel, registration?? I'm hoping maybe to find some cheap flights, anyone check into this yet?

How cool will it be to race somewhere that does not smell like fish heads (lake michigan) and might offer something more than a pancake road (chicago-area)!

I'm glad I saw this, you guys sound like my kind of people!!

Um, I kind of freaked when I saw this. But entry fee is $115! Isn't that a bit high? I remember paying like $50 on avg. for race fees...

I already booked my hotel room. A lot of places were sold out surprisingly. So I would jump on that soon...

I did St. Anthony's for the first time this past April.  Yes, it was a wetsuit legal race and many people used them.  As far as pancake-flat roads, I know people from Chicago that say Florida makes Chicago look hilly!  There is a slight rise up from the water, but that's about it.  It's an awesome race weekend though!

I am in though they aged me a year. They listed me as being 35 on race day, when I will be 34. I think that bumps me up an age group.

I'm in after a few failures with the website. They must have a ton of people trying to register right at the open so if anyone else is having troubles be patient.

Starting to look forward to the event.

I'm in!  See you all in St. Pete in April.  I'll be heading down sometime this winter (probably January) to check out all the bars, restaurants, clubs, hangouts, watering holes, and interviewing bail bondsmen in advance of the BT functions surrounding the race.  If you haven't already, you should check into accomodations as many hotels are already selling out.  Looking forward to seeing all of you there for the race and the celebrations afterwards!
