Ditto what Bryan said - sorry I couldn't make the get together.  Hope everyone had a great race, I was able to trim a couple of minutes off my time from last year, so at least I didn't have a complete disaster.  I working on a race report, but waiting for the splits to come up, as I really screwed up my watch time this race.

Thank you for being out there! The volunteers were great...I always try to thank everyone at every aid station and intersection and I was so impressed with the number of volunteers out there and their really supportive attitude.

My wife jumped in and donned the "volunteer" t-shirt during my swim and helped with body marking and then--about 8am (after I went out on the bike)--relieved someone marshalling First and River Rd in Guerneville for an hour (she stayed until the last cyclist went out)...I think that was a real special part of the weekend for her (both good--seeing everyone heading out on the bike--and bad--getting attitude from Guerneville motorists).

Todd,
Thank your wife for me, I WAS one of the last bikers out on the course. I think there were 10 bikes still in T1 when I left. It was nice to still have support even though I was passing through so late!

Quick question.   Has anyone found the official race picture out there yet?   Seems like they would be published by now.

No...the official line from the race organizers is "7-10 days" after the race, so they've still got a couple days within that timeframe. Nothing on the event photographer's site yet...tried a search by date...no dice (though some other, smaller, events they shot on 7/20 are now up, so that's a good sign, I think).

According to the Vineman Forum the event photographer is smaller than "ASI" or other race photograpers, so we're supposed to cut them some slack... or something.

Thanks to everyone who were there to cheer us on..  The day was perfect for racing and happily, nothing like last years temps.. Now, if they could only improve the road surfaces... I felt sorry for a couple of guys out on the course that had flats and didn't seem in any hurry to change them.  One was on a bike with Zipp wheels..  Are they tough to change?  This one guy just didn't seem like he wanted any part of that..  I also think there was a crash of a red Kuoda, but feeling my age today, cannot remember if it was before well Chalk hill or well after it..  Saw the Sherrif with the bike leaning against his squad car and the fire engine up the road..  No ambulance was in sight at the time but there was debris in the road..  Hope whoever it was is OK now..

Congrats to all who raced... I wish I could have made the dinner but had a laste lunch and called it quits early..  Yanti, great pics..

I dont know about cutting them some slack for taking so long...

I run my own event photography company on the side. I did a 3 day event that had 9,000 pictures taken and I was able to get them online with 3 days, and thats with no help and a full time job. That beign said, I hope they turn out good. I'm thinking I might be jumping in for the '09 Vineman 70.3

Woo-hoo! Worst pictures ever!

Which is fine, since I never buy any...although I swear I...

A. Waited until after the photographer had a chance to shoot before stopping my watch at the line (guess not...)
B. Smiled for the posed finisher photo (guess that's what passes for a smile after five-and-a-half hours...)
