Hi everyone! This is my first post to BT and Wildman will be my first tri. Crazy that I am, I will be doing the sprint distance. I will surely be the last one out of the water.

I live in Lake Nona which is about 4 miles from Moss Park. I just wanted to give you all a heads up about the area. There are no hotels on Narcoosee Road. However 436 aka Semoran Blvd is just two miles west and there are plenty of hotels there. This is also the airport exit from 528 the Beachline.

There is a great local Italian rest at the intersection of Moss Park and Narcoossee road in the Publix shopping center, Cariera's Cucina Italiana, http://www.carieras.com/. I eat here atleast once a week. I love it!

Anyways just thought I would give you a head's up.

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth! The vast majority of us are doing the myFirst (which is just as long as the sprint - except for half the water - 400yds vs 800yds). I will be in the Hunters Creek (in-laws house), and I know two others will be in Kissimmee. Thank you for the Italian Restaurant info and location. It will definitely going to be an option for us. Assuming you would be up in joining us at a Friday night meet up.

Most of us are just going to do the tri for ourselves and not try to break any records. So don’t worry, you will do fine, and I doubt that you will be the last one out of the water. The guys in the kayaks have to wait until your out. j/k

Nice to meet you, and look forward to actually meeting you soon!

10 DAYS LEFT!

Chris

Hi - of course I would love to join you guys for dinner. Just let me know the timings. I might have my daughters 9 and 7 with me. Not sure yet if I will have a sitter.

Thanks for the confidence. I was going to sign up for the myfirst event but my coach won't let me. I have been running marathons for about 10 years. I have done 30 but this is my first foray into Tri's. I am signed up for the IMFL in Nov. See I told you I was crazy. I cannot wait to hook up with you guys.

I'll be at the Wild Man and South Beach too!
Wild Man will be used as a hard work out.
South Beach will be a practice run for St. A's

We need to set up a BT area at some of the picnic tables!
We need a sign or something?

I can be there between 5:30 and 6:00. It is family haircut day. :-) Should I call and make a reservation? How many people will be going in total?

I agree on the BT picnic table. I can get my kids to make some signs. Maybe get some balloons? Let me know what you guys think?

ok I will come meet you guys but cannot eat that early!

especially since it will still feel like 4:30 (we spring forward this weekend)

and dinner is my only meal before the race - would rather not hurl during this event!

Bill (big sexy) is coming up to cheer us all on so he might be there too.

I probably wont be there until about 6. This place is a great place to hang so I am sure we can sit there as long as we want. I know the owners and they are close friends with some non-running,non-tri friends of mine.

The place has great food so you can always get some to-go and eat later.

Ok guys. I am making a reservation for 16 on Friday at 5:30 pm. It will be under BT Team. I will be there as close to 5:30 as I can.

Now Q for you all? Are any of you planning on wearing a wetsuit for the swim?

For the wetsuit question - I will be bringing my short sleeve/leg wetsuit, and depending on the dip I plan on taking before the tri starts, use it or not. Being that I think I can be out of the water in 8-10 minutes (we will see on race day), I may not wear it. But it won't take me too long to get it off, so I might use it. So to answer the question, maybe. ;P

I'll be wearing mine, mainly because I just got a new one (well, new to me) and I want to try it out. I'm doing the full sprint. If I were doing the My First Tri, I'm not sure if I would wear one. The water will be cool, but not unbearable. If I remember correctly, most people wore one last year.

I rented a sleeveless suit and will be wearing it because everybody on bt that raced this event last year said the water was very cold. I can probably be done in about 12 mins but don't want to take any chances. problem is I will only have one day to practice swimming in the suit and taking it off so we'll see how it goes.

Hey guys... The use of a wet suit depends greatly on the water temperature. If it's too warm the race director will say "no way". If it's cool, then it will be up to the race director if wet suits can be used; then its up to you all. I'm doing the Du so no wet suit for me!!!

hey Chris, I can't be on the webinar tonight because I'll be at work.....could you confirm whether wetsuits will be ok or not and let us know? I didn't think there was any question because of how early it is in the season but I guess there still a chance they won't allow them.

I'd appreciate it.
