Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know the reservation is confirmed for Friday night at 5:30 pm for 16 inluding kids. We are under BT Team.
The link to the website is: http://www.carieras.com/LakeHart/lakehart1.html

I will get there as close to 5:30 as I can but I will be coming from the other side of town. The food is awesome so enjoy!

Is anyone else nervous about Saturday?

rnrgrl262, thanks for setting up the reservation. we'll be there.

Chris, good news about the wetsuits. I got the e-mail about the new course as well but the map to me is not much help. I plan on getting to the park around 6 to have time to review the course and set up.

I am driving the bike course today at lunch. I will update and let you guys know what I think. I am sooooo nervous. If this was a marathon I would be fine.

I'm doing my best to not let my nerves get the better of me. mostly just keeping busy with preparation. this is my first event of any kind like this so no matter how much prep I've done it will all be new.......yikes!

Thanks Elizabeth for making all the plans and such.

Driving the course is a great idea!

Not really nervous here, just excited - want to do this thing :P

Ohhhh... and what helped me today, is I practiced T1 3 times, and got my time down a good bit. Having that practice, and having everything laid out, and mentally/physically preparing was great. I did this in my workout room in my house... placed a towel on the floor, laid out everything and timed myself, got a system.

Ok the bike course is not bad at all. A bit bumpy lots of turns but all in all it is ok. The swim exit to what I think is the transition area is going to be fun.....Pine needles, twigs, leaves, rocks etc. But the water looks calm. Run will be shaded which is nice.

Assuming the swim to run transition is the same as last year, the map on the website is a little misleading. On the map, it looks like you run straight from the swim exit to transition (basically through the "woods"), which wouldn't be fun without shoes. You actually run up the beach a little and then up to the little road through the parking area. After the beach, most of the run is on the pavement. It's really not that bad.

Thanks for the head up. I just looked online and Moss Park is open from 8am to 6pm everyday. So FYI if you are all coming over an wanting to sneak a peak. I will be calling about parking prices, I am seeing anything from $1-$3 a person to $5-8 a car. So calling them will get true info.

Regarding the run to the transition, last night on the webinar, they stated it was through the rocks etc. So I was just assuming. Thanks for letting us know we get to run on the road!!!!

That is interesting. They may have changed it since last year. I hope not, because I'm a tenderfoot. If you pass someone who is screaming "Ouch" every step on the way to transition, that would be me

All - it is $3 for one-to-two people in the car, and $5 for three or more (regardless of age).

Z on the webinar did show with the arrow, going (running) down the beach a ways, before cutting in. So it might not have changed, but there is prob some debris on the run.

Dr. London (Cat) and I biked the bike course this evening. Paved all the way, some bumps and uneven areas (not too much). The main thing to watch for is debris in the road (i.e. a lot of rocks and sand - pinecones, etc). When we get to the side streets (off Moss Park Road) they are narrow, so with oncoming traffic and those passing others, it will be tight. Just an FYI

Hopefully there will be some vols pointing the way, as it can be confusing where to initially turn off of Moss Park Rd (where all the turns are). There should be markers/vols, but then again I am not the race director. The main thing to look out for will be all the small items in the road. Z (the race dir) told Cat that they were going to try and cleaup some of it, but if he does not have a street sweeper, I would expect a great deal to still be there. So my hope is that they would have staff showing everyone the way.

Can't make it to the meetup tonight, sorry guys

I think I'm going without a wetsuit for the swim. Hope the water's not too cold!!

I rode the (original) bike course last Sunday and the roads in the one neighborhood were horrible. I'm glad they changed it but I wish I would have known sooner.

The run is nice & shady as someone else said.

See everyone tomorrow

They charged us $2 per kids cup of water. Adult waters were free. A$$Holes! Did not have time to try and find the waitress to get out money back, as we needed to get out of there for the kids to get to bed.

I hope everyone has a great and safe race.  You couldn't ask for better weather for a spring race!

Do a mental practice for getting into T1 and T2 before it kicks off.  Look for clues to focus on for the entry for each. Things can get hectic when you're surrounded by several others and the transition area is loaded with people.

When you get in the water look for gators, just kidding, LOL Laughing!  Look for any clues on the horizon to help with sighting.  It's a lot easier looking for a large tree, house, etc., than an orange or red buoy especially if it's a long leg.

I'll be checking out some race reports soon!

Just got done cleaning and hanging my equipment.

I just wanted to say I was disappointed I didn't get to meet you all
I was there and had a great time.
I hope all of you had a good time and great race!

I got there a bit late and was running to swim!
I live so close, I was just running behind!
I did see one tall gentlemen in the distance with a BT Tri top before the race, but I didn't have time to go over and meet him and see if he knew any other members at the race. So I was looking for him after the race. But, I didn't have any luck.

Looking forward to reading your race reports!
The weather was great and I was glad to see they cleaned up the roads!
