Well this has already been the day from hell. Got up on time, got dressed, decided to change my pants because they were too short. Got the car loaded to be on time to meet Anne at the pool and cannot find my military i.d. ANYWHERE... what to do? Take a chance and drive down anyway hoping I can get on post with just my driver's license and also into the pool. That works out okay, get there, and we are having a good swim when we are about to start our last set before our cool down and they decide to close down our lane, and want 5 lanes to compress into 2. There are already 4-5 "swimmers" in each lane. Our set is 5 x 100 HARD!! So we bag it. Get into the locker room, pull out my shower stuff, my new glasses fall on the floor and the lens pops out. Luckily it pops right back in. Get to school, drop my computer mouse on the floor and now the scrolling wheel doesn't work?! Luckily I'm a mechanical genius and have tools here, so I am able to fix it. WHAT ELSE CAN GO WRONG??? Oh, and yesterday I rode my bike in shorts, today the wind chill is in the low 20's, WTF??

I really, Really, REALLY did not want to go out in the cold and run this afternoon. I know on paper it doesn't look that cold, but there was just something about the air and the wind that just made it feel bitter cold in spite of the real temps! But I sucked it up and went knowing that I wanted a rest day tomorrow even more than I didn't want to run today! Turned into an okay run. I can tell my speed has slowed a bit since I've been biking again, but hopefully that is temporary until I get my chubby little legs back in the groove of real SBR training!

So today was a run day, but it was just too nice not to get outside on my bike. Cold front is coming through tonight, highs around 50 tomorrow. Quads were feeling yesterday's Spinerval at first, but then they warmed up. All in all a good ride!

Ugh, I am so horrible at these, gotta work up to something respectable. My super spin sucks, I can't stand up and spin on the trainer although I can do it pretty well outside? Ah well, I got through it and recorded my info on the back of the sleeve so I can compare my progress next time I do it. I only picked this one because it was the shortest one, ha ha!

AVG CADENCE: 76... low, but it included easy spinning and power cranking in the hardest gear!

Trainer ride, whew! This was work in spite of the speed reading! Really worked on keeping the cadence over 90. Watched some trash TV on the E! network and made it one gear harder during the commercials. Not ready for Spinervals yet!

So I woke up to major thunderstorms in the middle of the night, they were right on top of us!  Literally no time at all between the flash and the thunder!!  I have no idea what the closure policy is at the pool I'm swimming at right now, and the thought of getting up at 4 a.m. only to drive over and find them closed or waiting to get in the water was not something I wanted to face this morning, so I bagged it and got an extra hour of sleep.  Trainer ride is waiting for me this afternoon.  Now a rainy day at SCHOOL is a GOOD thing!  Because music is in portables and PE is in a separate bldg. outside, we come into the building on rainy days and show movies (and not get in trouble for it!).

Beautiful afternoon for a ride! We got home from Austin (picking up my aero helmet) just in time to fit in a ride. I took my regular loop the other way (the harder way!) so I am really pleased with the speed! My @$$ seems to be adjusting quite well, thank you, and so are my bike legs. I just have to be consistent! And no, I did NOT wear the aero helmet, ha ha! I guess I will have to at some point before I race in it, but it's ridiculous looking enough when I'm out there all by myself. I'll have to do it really early in the morning ha ha! Worked on keeping my cadence up and fiddled with my gearing, trying to find that sweet spot between the big and small rings.

Whoa, definitely blew the calorie count yesterday, especially as it was a rest day!  Hubby and I used our Olive Garden gift card we had gotten for Christmas, came back and plugged it into MyFitnessPal... hell, the day was already blown so went ahead and had a bowl of ice cream too!  (Gotta get rid of those snacks anyway, right?).

My aero helmet has arrived at the bike store, so we are off to Austin today to pick it up and have lunch, we'll have to see if I have better self-control over my menu selection today, ha ha!  Dieting thru the week is easy, it's the weekends that are so sabotaging!  Time to go for a run to burn some calories BEFORE lunch, and then depending on what time we get back, hope to get in a bike.  Weather is changing again, and rain is in the forecast, 70% chance on Monday, so want to get outside while I can.
