...Cheetah in Training...

Went to a medical doctor today to see about getting an MRI to get to the bottom of what this lingering pain is. I'm very skeptical of medical doctors, so this was a big step for me. Ruled out Bursitis. Did X-rays, which of course showed nothing because the issue is likely tendons/ligaments, not bone. MRIs are not allowed until a conservative approach has first been tried for a few weeks. She prescribed no biking or running for 2 weeks, NAIDS, a knee compression sleeve, and ice. So basically the well known RICE treatment (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation).
I was on the verge of tears (again) when I left the office, but it is what it is. I just HAVE to exercise enough discipline to STOP trying to use it and give it the actual rest break that it apparently needs. I keep thinking I can work through it, but apparently not.
But on another note, she re-confirmed that I do NOT have arthritis. I was mis-diagnosed with arthritis 2 years ago and put on longterm NAIDS for months before my Chiro informed me that I absolutely do NOT have arthritis (verified by X-Ray which was not done the first time by the medical doctor). This second X-ray just confirms that my Chiro was right over the medical doctor, which is why I no longer trust medical doctors. I went through a LOT of heartache over being told I had arthritis in both of my knees, not to mention unnecessarily taking prescription NAIDS for several months.
