That's more like it. I think it was the donkai leg warmers. ;) Feeling better and better with each ride. Pounding out the hills yesterday was a huge confidence boost I think. Went out with the goal of just being in the 19's. Common last summer for me. Around 3 or 4 miles out I was around 19.5 and threw down a solid 21mph all the way home to try to crack 20. Didn't quite make it. Great for me on a solo ride though. Fog made it interesting. Some focking beautiful views of the moon illuminating the fog over the farm fields out in the abyss. Cooool stuff.
30 seconds rest in-between.
1x200 3:03 (AWESOME! I was shooting for sub-3, but really didn't think I'd be close)
1x200 3:17 (slowed down to reality obviously)
1x200 3:22 (even more reality. reality BITES).
Lunch swim. I know this is pathetically short, but I have so little time, and I NEED to get these sessions in over lunch. So, some is better than nothing, right? RRIIIIGHTTTTT?

2.5 laps of jszat hill route, no egofske shortcut.
Rain was in the forecast, so this ride was questionable. Instead of going my normal route, I decided the hill route (a figure 8 of about 9 miles that hits 2 very large hills and a bunch of rollers) was a better option. Stays within 5 miles of my house at all times.
The first lap was suuuper dark, foggy, and creepy. Still not quite light enough out to make this part of the routine yet. Some sharp declines I couldn't take advantage of due to wet roads/brakes and poor visibility. As a matter of fact, on the darkest section (crowbar) a dog ran out and started barking...scared the living shat outta me. I sorta screamed/roared back at it in a mixture of fear and irritation. That shut that pooch up. Why someone would let their dog out in the dark at 4:30 in the morning is beyond me. In this area, that thing'll be a coyote snack if they keep letting it out.
By the end of the first lap, it started getting light out and I was able to work a little easier.
FWIW jszat, the .5 is a third trip up Tans/Crowbar/Field.
I was flying the "donkeys on the edge" colors this morning. Great stuff. Very comfortable. jszat can attest to the fact that I've got terrible bike clothes. Too cheap to spend all the coin to bling out on that stuff. But, donkai stuff was worth it, and now I see why everyone dresses to the nines. That stuff is like actually made to be comfortable. Much better than my wind pants and long sleeve cotton shirts. ;)
Lunch Swim...

1x100 1:21.09 NEW PR.
I visually saw 1:20 when I came up, but didn't get the button in time. That's ok, I know I can get there now.

Never been near this pace for 10+. Went out with no real goal this morning besides get the long one in. I wasn't real hip on getting up with the alarm, so dragged myself out and just figured let my body decide what it wanted. I honestly didn't care. Was feeling pretty good throughout but purposely didn't check the paces until near the end. The weather was abso-focking-lutely beautiful this morning. No wind, 58 degrees, sunrise to the east. Great day for a run, and a GREAT run. Some nice negative split action in there too!

East Troy Route. Nothing to write home about here, but this ride just felt better than my previous. Hopefully this is the beginning of some improvements in the biking category.
We were at my father-in-laws house jumping on his trampoline yesterday afternoon. Can I log that shat? I was a complete bucket of sweat, huffing and puffing while popcorning the kids into outer space. It was fun. Has a wedding Saturday night, that makes 2-nights of alcohol consumption in one week. Probably haven't done that in a year. It was fun though. They had a guy just playing piano and singing for music, and this guy was AWESOME, so we had fun with that.
Weather was supposed to be good all weekend, but in fact was fairly azz. Living by the cold bucket of water that is Lake Michigan can really suck at this time of year. Never warms up. I saw 80 in Omaha yesterday. 75 in Minneapolis. I doubt we got much over 60.

My friends, let me just say the Donkey Gear is awesome stuff. Go get you some team apparel from jszat! Let me also say that it's very important to run the gas out of your lawn mower at the end of each season. I know, we've all heard it before, but am I the only idi-idi-idi-idiot that ignores that?
Apparently.

Processing your request, please wait...
Took a ride with my wife in the evening. She's pretty strong on her bike...I should push her to ride more. Stiff headwind.
LSD Run with rolling thunder teammate Bruce. Well, supposed to be an LSD run for me, but that dude is ramping up faaaast. Awesome run for him. Cow route. Another fantabulous morning weather-wise out there.
HR stayed below 160, which for me is good.

This was sorta messed up. Saw jszat as we finished running. Hustled into the club and thought I could swim with him real quick so I don't have to do a nooner. Race in there not having drank any water post run at all. Felt like azz. The splits aren't bad considering how I was feeling. Helped jszat with body positiioning a bit and then split since I was feeling poor. Got 3 swims in this week, but probably the equivalent of 2.
