OK, I found out something this morning.  When setting the alarm, it helps to TURN THE FOCKER ONNN!!!  I had all my shat set up for a big LSD run this morning, and bolted awake to the sun and birdies chirping, and knew I had focked up somehow.  CRAP!!!!

There is some benefit though.  Camping was a blast, excellent weather, excellent boating.  However, the normal level of site management was simply not there.  Normally, a Park Ranger comes by around 9pm and tells everyone to shat da flock up by 10:00.  Then, around 10:30 they make another swing through and get tough on those that can't keep their noise level down.

Well, no visits at all by the Rangers.  Honestly, I might as well have taken my kids to a raunchy nightclub for the night on Saturday night.  Huge noise level, obvious heavy drinking, ridiculous language and subject matter at the top of thier lungs. ( As a side note, not only was the subject matter rated X, but then I caught a glimps of these people the following morning.  These were UGLY UGLY people talking about this.  BLEEEECH.)

With no ranger phone numbers evident I called the county sherriff at about 2AM.  They did a drive through without stopping, which shut these clowns up for a grand total of about 30-seconds...when they talked about "that was a flocking cop" and "hide the heroin" in hushed yet loud tones.  Ridiculous.  Within 15-minutes the music was back on and the party continued.  Denise and I guessed we got about 2-hours sleep Saturday night.  As 3:30 was rolling around I realized I'd normally be up for training pretty soon.

So anyway, sleep was a premium and I did get some o' dat last night.

Any Donkeys need a tri-bike?  Good deal, IMHO...

One lap of jszat hill route, lots of big hills on this course. My heart really wasn't in it this morning, but glad I got some action in. Mentally worked hard on the hills but sorta flopped on the flat areas. QOM 8+, this has been a hard week for me...biggest week in a while, and I can feel it. Not saying is was huge by the donkey standards, just for me.

CORRECTION: "the donkey standards" was used incorrectly above, as pointed out by donkey HANGLOOSE. In my brain I wanted to comment on how this was a good week for me, but pales in comparison to what jszat, peterak, pseudoyams, jazz8675309, and others training long or for IM's are throwing down. That's what I "meant" but I shortened it up a bit too much. Donkey isn't about performance or numbers...it's about ATTITUDE people.

Brick run. Felt like azz early, but warmed up nicely. Gotta keep up on the bricks, I felt bad off the bike at Lake Mills, and wasn't feeling real rosy this morning at first either.

Up late last night...my daughter had poms until 10PM.  WHATT?  As the kids get older, this stuff starts to get serious, and really eat into life.

This weekend we're camping for 2 nights (at nagawicka, for local peeps).  If the forcast holds out we're looking at 2+ days of game-on boating action again.  Kids are pumped.  Lot's of prep work for the Mrs. and I has us a bit worn down.  I like camping a lot, but sometimes wonder if it's worth the work.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY all you BT Dad's out there, and have a great weekend!

Hairpin. Intended on going easy but as usual started ramping it up as I was getting warmed up. I thought I'd end up faster, as I was humping it hard in the hill sections. I guess I sandbagged early more than I thought.

Circuit or "boot camp" class. Always random sprints, drills, or other crap to make you sweat. Good instructor. Since the kids are out of school Denise and I are gonna try to do this class together each week. Sorta cool that we can finally do something with each other, like a real couple. ;)

Golf was fun yesterday.  Personally, if I'm gonna take away 5 hours of my day, I'd rather it be on a bike with some donks, but other than that it was good.  My game was showing signs of heavy rust, but it's funny, any good golfer that sees me play comments on how nice my swing is.  I wish it would show up in results, but whatevah.  Had enough good shots to keep me interested, anyway.  Great weather.  I think we are in what might be the finest stretch of weather I can remember for quite some time.

This is 2-rides. First, an 12-mile pre-group ride hill-fest. Rode up and down a few of the larger hills around TCFKAM a few times. Then, hooked up with a group and did the remainder. Started off a bit casual but one group member headed out fast, which I couldn't let happen. So, a few of us caught up, including jszat and one other faster guy, and the four of us ended up jamming at like 21 for most of the group ride. Fun stuff! Great weather again this AM. I'm really enjoying bike riding right now. Hills at about 30 sorta tapped out my already beat up quads from yesterday. I could feel myself fading.

OH Yea, at one part of the ride we passed some other bikers going the opposite directon. One was firstnet911...WITHOUT A HELMET ON!!! WTF was THAT?

Golf outing at noon today.  I haven't touched my shat in 2-years.  It's a local chamber of commerce outing, so no big pressure.  Should be interesting how I do.

Good run this morning. Still battling motivation a bit, so had to draggg my sorry azz out the door again.

This I'll dub my dead cat alley route, as it's south on 164 then comes back up crowbar in the heart of dead cat alley. Wide open rolling farm-type road that always seems littered with critters.

Anyway, this course killed me all winter training with Joel, but today wasn't much of an issue. It was funny on some sections listening to the birds as the sun is rising, remembering the dark, snowy windswept mornings I'd be battling this focker. It was ALWAYS shatty out when I did it. Today was polar opposite...couldn't ask for better weather.

Did LSD (<160 for me) until 9 or so, and then decided to pick it up and see what I could bring home with.
