It's truly amazing how much the weather plays a role in my running ability and fatigue levels. It's a beautiful morning with temps around 60 and no humidity... and I ran a faster pace than I have all summer at these HRs and RPE.
Emptied the tank on the last mile and did it in 9:15

For the last three summers I have been saying I wanted to do a century but for one reason or another, I never got it in. Not today!
This was my third century ever. I really had a great ride and I felt good throughout most of it, even at the end. I hit a rough patch from about mile 70-80... I started to get very tired and my legs felt dead. I just eased up a bit and decided to take whatever my legs would give me.
I didnt really build up to this distance and I hope that doesn't come back to haunt me, but regardless, I don't have much else planned for this season and it was very important to me, mentally to ride this distance. Since I signed up for the IM, I decided that I wanted to do one workout in each discipline that was either the longest distance I would do in training or over 85% of the IM distance. I figured that for August, I'd ride 100 miles, swim 4,000 yards in September and build up to a 20 mile run in October.
