Ran at the canal with Ted... ran easy for the first 8... then up-tempo through 13, then easy through 16. My running sticks felt ok, but they need some rest... Taper starts now!

I had some stuff to sort through... So I ran without my music today... Instead I ran down to South HS and did a short set of intervals and ran back home...

Strong wind from the north made it tough on the track...

Nice run... felt good. HR is high today... My resting HR was 3 beats up from a couple of days ago and my HR on this run was up a bit too...

So... I haven't done a Polar Fitness Test in a long time... The last time I took the test (sometime before the 5430 HIM) my score was a 58 which was at the highest end of my age group scale... Today I took the test again and I scored a 61. I don't know what this means outside of the fact that it shows a marked improvement in fitness since July. The Polar Fitness Test is based loosely on predicted VO2 Max, age, height and weight, heart rate, variable heart rate and other general voodoo crapola. Another number note... I punched in my 17:55 5K in the Running for fitness predicted time chart and I noticed something phenomenal... my predicted avg half marathon time is 1:21:14... two weeks before the 5K I ran a 1:21:13 half marathon... that is spooky... my predicted avg marathon is 2:49:42 (with the Cameron formula putting me at 2:46:59)... Lance Armstrong ran a 2:46:40 or so at NYC this year... So goal one... 2:46:30, goal two, sub 2:50, goal three better my personal best of 2:54:53. Numbers are fun!

Ran comfortably with a half mile pick up at the end... another incredible day for running... just a little windy but who's complaining!

Well it's time honoured tradition
To get enough nutrition
Stay alive until you die
And that is the end of you
And I pity the fools
Who don't recognize the rules
We cannot cheat the reapers reap
And that is the end of that
That is the end of that
That is the end of that
That is the end of that
Ho ho ho ho...
Well it's not an old wives tale
Too much red meat and ale
Will make you pay get five a day
Or that is the end of you
And it's a common misconception
But true without exception
These nights of booze catch up with you's
And that is an actual fact
That is the end of that
That is the end of that
That is the end of that
Ho ho ho ho...
La lalala...
It's time honoured tradition
To get enough nutrition
Stay alive until you die
And that is the end of you
And I pity the fools
Who don't recognize the rules
We cannot cheat the reapers reap
And that is the end of that

Nice run... Pretty quick... forgot my HR strap. Shucks

No plan for this week... some running, I guess! Duane "Dog" Chapman, the famous bounty hunter, lost his reality TV show because one of his kids released a tape to the media of him repeatedly using the "n-word." Chapman says he still loves the son who sold him out ... which is pretty much how Bush "41" feels about bush "43." AND... Rudy Giuliani admits not checking into Bernie Kerik's background thoroughly enough was a "mistake." A "mistake" is forgetting to feed your parking meter or not remembering to put the garbage cans out -- not hiring a guy to run the biggest police department in the U.S. who has both mob ties and mob suspenders. And Finally: President Bush visited injured veterans at a rehab center in San Antonio. It's kind of like a drunk driver showing up with flowers in the hospital room of people he ran over.

Ran with my Hood 2 Coast team-mate, Justin at the canal. Justin is a 2:40 marathoner so his slow runs are not so easy for me... It was fun catching up, I felt fatigued a little but had no problem conversing at this pace...

My HR is a little high though...
