didn't have a lot of time but it was good to get back out there after so long

Had my connective tissue massage yesterday afternoon..man I am sore today. She said I was tight all in my arms and boy my legs..didn't think they were that bad until she worked on my shins...I realized from friday morning to yesterday I ran 20 miles! that was a big jump for me in a short time but good prep for my long run this weekend. Wendi thinks we are doing 20 but shhhh I am shooting for 18 and hope to manage to walk the last 2 :)

Have a bunch of donor meetings today so all dressed up...even straightened my hair, heels and everything. gotta look older than 12 today.

Supposed to bike and strength train today..probably after work. wow I haven't biked in 3 weeks! yikes!

Ran same loop as yesterday. Felt the fatigue of 3 runs in 4 days (haven't done that in a while)but by mile 4 I was pushing up those hills, thinking about getting my knees a bit higher and when I realized I could beat my yesterday time I sprinted in the end. Felt good.

swim felt good. Really paying attention to technique and realized I needed to push myself harder on the last 1000...and wow, knocked off 36 seconds!

yup did all sorts of cleaning and laundry and organizing yesterday.

ok it is pouring out. I am home eating dinner and don't think I am doing shopping tonight. Will finish laundry and this time I AM doing yoga before bed.

Ran the whole way this morning, no walking breaks except when I had to cross the street/wait for light. I pushed it harder than normal on the uphills and tried to push it out on the finish.

Think I am going to do my yoga tonight.

I am focused as heck folks. I have to be. I have my 2nd largest fundraiser of the year 1 week before the MCM so I have to budget my time wisely.

Step 1 today: clean my house and fill it with groceries. Gotta have some good meals precooked and ready for the week.

just got home from our big youth conference we did. It went really really well. my team did an awesome job. And folks I was the closing speaker. 30 minutes...no big deal right? well I was just having a bad week mentally and just never 'felt' it in me for my talk. I am usually so calm and can talk for 30 minutes on the fly. But this time in preparing all week I struggled to find the right words to say. I was typing my notes until midnight last night, printed them out and spent the morning scratching out and re-writing. Well from what I heard and could tell from the audience, it went very well. And my notes? barely even looked at them. Go figure. I had some parents come up and thank me for having the talk appeal to them too and I heard the teens said "wow she is a really good speaker and I just 'got' it ...and so it all turned out well. I am pooped though. Doing these conferences wipe you out! I am resting and ignoring my house that needs to be cleaned. Will do that tomorrow after my run in the am.

janelle OMG! uncrustables rock! had the whole wheat PB and honey before my run.

Goal was to leave 7 am but it was so foggy this morning you couldn't see 10 ft in front of you. Not good when i am running on main road. So got out at 9 am (yeah getting to work late I know). The fog lifted by mile 3 and it was sunny but very breezy. I didn't put on sunblock and can't get over how much sun I got!

MY goal from now until race: endurance and putting in the miles. Slow and steady baby. If I can hold even an 11 min pace I will be fne for my goal time. So goal is keeping HR down and legs running. This was a great run for me. I just felt good. I didn't feel any fatigue in my leg until the last mile which is the hilliest but not bad considering I havent run since monday and that was only 4 miles.

And I gotta rest me legs, running my long butt run with my gator next saturday!

September 14

Didn't run last night. I ate some dinner and sat on couch for a bit to let food digest and next thing I know I woke up at 8:30 pm! ugh. So much for my run outdoors.

I then slept bad, snoozed alarm a billion times and was achy and stiff in my shoulder again. So I just came to work. I am stuck here all day with lots of work/meetings (we have a big conference we are doing this weekend and I am the closing speaker) until 8:00 pm. So it may be a yellow square day.

I am so worried about my running or lack of running ability that I was thinking about pulling out from MCM. I have survived 3 marathons. I don't want to just survive another one. Want to do well and frankly the way my runs have gone, I don't see that happening. So I tossed it around all day and decided I can't give up. If I back out then I will surely let my chaotic job win and stress me out for the next few months as I claw to make budget for the year. So I would end the year even more depressed or fatter than I am today...so I just went online and finally booked my flight. I knew if I made the financial commitment I wouldn't back out. Boy good day to book a flight. I had been pricing them for months and couldnt' get less than $500. I just booked a roundtrip, nonstop on the dinkiest AA plane (30 seats?) for $162 total! Maybe that is a good sign? :) I hope so!

Considering how tight I was, I am quite pleased with my swimming. These were my best times. go figure. will do yoga tonight to stretch it out. supposed to run too but eating some grub first.
