Business Hours are Over...

The following equipment is nearing replacement:

August 9

Luis was in town for a conference so I went downtown and met up with him for a few beers.

I'd planned on a long ride on the Colorado Trail today but had some unplanned house stuff that I needed to take care of instead,

Was going to go fishing with Brian today (Kristi's hubby) but he's leaving at 3:30am so...  I'm not going to go fishing with Brian today.

Olympics start tonight!!  I love this time of every four years.  Anyone want to trade pins?  Ugh.

I've got just about everything unpacked from the move now and I'm still missing a couple of things.  Hmmmm....

HR was way high and the pace wasn't that fast so I guess I've lost a bit of fitness. Still it was a good run and really nice out.

I almost had motivation to run when I got home last night but then, sadly, it started raining.  Maybe tonight. It's kind of strange not feeling completely worn down all the time any more.

Ok, just a couple more.  We saw the pidgeon whisperer of Zagreb while having some coffee.  And some street musicians in Munich.

Unfortunately no rave parties are allowed in the national park

Huh, we have tornado sirens in Denver, who knew?

Had one of the best meals I've ever had right down the canal from here.  We did the Italian don't-eat-until-late thing which suits me perfectly & just picked the restaurant that all the Italians were eating at.  It was full but they brought a table outside for us and we sat right on the canal.  The food was incredible - Caprisi Insulate to start (that mozzarella and tomato salad from the other pic), gnocci with scallops and then swordfish with fresh vegetables (they had to substitute for the asparagus because it wasn't in season any more.  Fresh means fresh).  Add in a very nice bottle of chianti, some Venitian biscuits for desert, a big Italian family just pulling up in their boat right next to us, hopping off and taking the next table over (what a life!), boats motoring by with the bass thumping, some lady yelling in Italian from the apartment above us...  I thought we were on a movie set.

No Liter Cola, but they did have liter beers.  At the beer hall in Munich.

Nothin'.

Been in a little bit of a funk since I got back so I figured I'd motivate to finish putting my bike back together and go spin some laps in the park. Feel like I've lost a step or two but I did realize I've missed being on my bike and it was nice to be out there.

I have a friend doing the Leadville 100 this saturday & I was thinking about making this a jockstrap weekend and heading up there to check it out.  Apparently word has leaked out that Lance Armstrong will be racing it.  Can you say zoo?

So since I was on the autobahn I figured you can't go there and not put the hammer down at least once.  So I waited for a downhill so I could keep speed with all the BMWs and Audis, pulled the little Fiat I rented into the left lane and floored it.  Got it up to about 200km/hr until the hill ended and I wasn't comfortable going any faster (plus it was about red-lined) but I didn't think to see how fast that was in mph until now.  Turns out its about 130mph, I was guessing 115 or so.  Go little Fiat, go!

Had a productive weekend - Cleaned, organized, painted and wired a light for the kitchen, found a sofa, ran, hiked, skied...

Between getting used to the altitude again, being sore from skiing and general slacking lately it wasn't a great feeling run. Wanted to stop after one lap but I called myself some unflattering names and did another.
