Louisville IM bike course
Run across KY/IN bridge & back - Louisville run course
What a great day!!
David (David Tri's), Josh (jbove), Garrett (grit_nugget), Kenny (Garrett's friend) and I met at the green lot on River Rd to start the ride. Garrett, Kenny, and I all did the race last year and knew the course. It was a great ride! It was so nice to ride with other people. We stopped at the two main gas stations on both loops. I felt good the entire ride. Being on the course was the motivation I needed. I could feel the excitement toward training coming back to me as I was riding. It was a hot & humid day - just like it will be on race day! My legs felt good on the brick run too. I had a wonderful time hanging out with everyone. After talking with Garrett, I decided to buy an aero helmet and rent race wheels for the race. My hubby actually said I could buy wheels, but I think I'll just rent them. I still need to purchase a new treadmill for the basement since I killed ours, so renting wheels may be a good option. Anyway, it was a great day of traning!!

I'm very excited to be going to Louisville to meet up with some other BTers tonight and ride the bike course tomorrow. I have been lacking motivation with my training. Bored. I'm doing almost all the training alone. Last summer I trained with Simon and Pat a lot. Also, I sometimes trained with Dave and John. I'm hoping being on the bike course will be good motivation. If anything, it's going to scare me into working harder again!!!
Had a nice evening with BTers (David, Josh, and Garrett). Went to Rocky's Italian on the river for dinner. Yummm! David, Josh, and I then walked around the Great Lawn and by the river. It was great to see Garrett again and to meet David and Josh!

Did grocery shopping for my dad today after work. He is so funny. My mom, her sisters (my 2 aunts), and their parents (my grandparents) are in Florida. They go on this trip for 2 weeks every year. Well, my dad has not been in a grocery store for years!!! LOL!! When my mom is out of town he will ask me, "Do you think you will be going to the grocery store this week"? "If you are going, could you pick up a few things for me?" I think it is so funny!! Not a big deal. He never really needs much. Considering all my dad does for me, shopping for his groceries when I'm at the store already is the least I can do.

open water swim - Hueston Woods - guess on distance
back, bi's, core, stretching
I now have a brand new computer on my desk at work. It has all the standard software on it. Too bad that leaves about 12 programs for me to install when I'm in the office tomorrow before I can be fully functioning. At least I have a new computer. The IS department is still working on getting my monitors (I have 3 monitors) and a few other things working this afternoon.
Vacation day. Gym early this morning and then home to work (well, I was going to try to work). Spent most of the day at Hueston Woods doing a solo tri.

Garmin battery died - guess on distance & time.
chest, tri's, shoulders, stretching, core
My work computer is still down. They tried to repair the hard drive, but it didn't work. :-(
Gym this morning. Run and swim planned for today. 1/2 day vacation.
OK - it has been one of those days. Computer down = no work. Cutting up carrots and celery for a salad, and sliced my thumb fairly bad. Yes, I should have been using a cutting board, but I wasn't. My own fault. Thumb had to be wrapped in several bandages and then covered with waterproof dressing. I finally get to the pool. Relax for about an hour until youth swim practice is over. Then, go to change into "swim" suit and realize that I left it at home. Drive home. Decide to eat luch and run before going back to pool. About 2 miles into the run the Garmin battery dies. It was a hot run - I need to do more of these. I walked some because I ran too soon after eating lunch and was getting stomach cramps. 3:45PM - called work and computer is still down. Oh well! I have a half day vacation planned tomorrow too!! Guess I'll go back to the pool and get in a short swim. Didn't happen. Work called to discuss my computer, and then my sister called. By that time, I decided to cook, and then eat, supper. Didn't feel like going back out. Tomorrow will be a better day.

at Adrenaline
In the office at the hospital today. Have an appointment at Adrenaline Sports and Fitness at 2:15. This is a place that helps to increase fitness level and improve athletic performance. I went last Monday for my 1st session and ended up buying a total of 12 sessions. It was fun. Mostly plyometric traning. I am hoping that this traning will help provide me with some speed. I am okay at distances, but horrible at sprints. I want to find my fast twitch muscles (hope I have some)! I also thought this will be something fun, and different, to add to traning. For today's traning, I'll work out at Adrenaline for an hour and then swim.
Didn't make it to the pool. :-( Followed hubby to drop off his Harley at the shop. He needs a new tire and something else. Then, my parents came over this evening. My mom & the family are back from Florida. :-)
Deciding between 2 aero helmets. Rudy Project Syton or the Louis Garneau Superleggera. The Rudy Project does not cover the ears - that may be nice. The LG may be faster & it looks cool. Any suggestions?!?!?
