It is almost Friday. Almost time for my last big training weekend before Boulder IM. I am ready for taper. I am tired and so very hungry.

Doing laundry today while I work. I will grocery shop after work today and then walk over to the library to pick up a book that I have on reserve. I have been reading while on the trainer and going through many books. No wonder I am not putting out the power and speed on the bike during my early morning trainer rides - I get too focused on the book. lol

La Jolla Shores ocean swim. Good group this evening. Swam out to the half mile buoy and back in. I am still having a lot of breathing issues in the wetsuit. :-(

Morning run along the coast. Tired legs, but got it done. Strong headwind going out (south), but great tailwind coming back north.

I had planned on ocean swimming in Del Mar this morning, but Mike was not wanting to swim. There had been sighting of a group of "those things in the water that we do not mention by name" north of us in Dana Point. He said he wanted to wait another day to see if there is any more news. Ended up being a good decision as the surf was really messy and high. I need to be doing more ocean swimming to adjust to the wetsuit (I hate wetsuit swimming). We both went out early and got in our long runs and then walked into town for brunch at Potato Shack (manhole cover size pancakes).

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms! Wish I was in Ohio today to give my mom a hug in person instead of over the phone.

Solo, solid, challenging ride. Chula Vista around Otay Lake. Very windy. Did the 8 mile (1 hour) climb up Honeysprings and connected with the Great Western Loop. I still prefer the climb to the descent. Felt decent climbing. Felt decent during the rest of the ride, just became very tired of the wind.

Brick run. Very happy with this - felt good. I ran around the Olympic training center and then took the path that goes behind the neighborhood to get in some rolling hills.
