He's gone 'The Distance'. Now what..?
March 2
March 1
More like a cyclecross ride on MTB, through icy patches and water puddles on the path. Went South first, then North, till I got to a place where the waves from the lake froze on the path forming massive blocks of ice (will have to take a picture f it - some sight...). That was the turning point. So distance is approx, so is time. Other than my feet being totally stiff and bike/me really dirty from mud - it was a good fun ride. Not a training quality, but just winter fun.
Washing the bike was fun (not). The frozen mud didn't want to let go.
I had a dream...
But when I woke up it was 22*F and I was tired. Went outside with a bucket of hot water to wash the car superficially - the ammount of salt on it was really annoying. As I was finishing, the water on the car froze, but the car looked better. And this bike ride today was looking really silly. I will wait till it gets a bit warmer. Right now will play with the baby, let the woman rest and do something outdoor later.
So I went for a ride (this is a really late entry).
February 29
Commuting to the pool and back. Had to take the bike, because the parking lot is always full, when I came late. I got really dirty from the slush, so did the MTB. Now I need to wash it.
Just a straight, boring swim, what can I say... other than my speed fractionally improved. Not a big deal, but makes me feel like somewhere along the line I'm improving the form. I just wish I knew where...
This chlorine in the pool made me lose the sense of taste - even coffee didn't taste like coffee. Some say 'I love the smell of chlorine in the morning!' - not me. My whole mouth was dry from it and even the brain got bleached... like totally, dude (thanks Spokes).
The weather looks so good today, it makes me want to take the bike (MTB) out tomorrow. So it will be this, or a long run, or both. The final decision will be made tomorrow morning.
February 28
Mid day run, no wind (yey), 22*F and sunny. No HR, just the feel. Equal splits!

Fantastic run, I'm gonna miss the snow when it melts. No BS! It wasn't too cold, somewhere in the 25*F range, wind though, but I really enjoyed it. Time is an estimate as I stopped few times to take some pictures, but the return leg took me 27':30", so it's pretty much accurate (who cares anyway...)

Quick run after the bike on treadmill.
Uppper body/ core.
05:00pm another session: 5 sets w/ 25 lbs and 20 push ups ea.
And it's all white again outside! Snowing and already good 2 inches on the ground. Looks like tomorrow may be a pool day, not a running day.
I can't believe it... every time I'm trying to get on the computer, the baby starts crying, as if I wasn't supposed to take my attention away even for few minutes. She's the center of the universe and everything revolves aroung her, it's clear now.

Man, what a day - WARM for a change. Took 1 bottle only and lasted 20k - not bad for me, usually I need to drink more. Ate 2 GU gels (1:00 and 1:45).
Negative splits!!! First 10k in 59:30. What was really great about this one was - NO ISSUES! Nada, nothing happened, not excessively tired, or thirsty, no blisters, nothing. I love it like this.
Weather: 48*F, 15km/h SSE wind, 65% humidity, SUNNY.
As if running 1/2 mary wasn't enough - put the baby in the jogger and went for 1hr walk. Felt guilty doing my thing on Sunday, so this way everybody was happy. And now I'm tired...

I fell asleep with the baby right next to me last night - not good. I used to sleep and be sort of aware of what's going on, but not so much anymore. One wrong move and you can hurt the little thing. She's fine, fed and burped again.
Great run, great weather. 9:00am and I was finished - yey! For a non-morning person it's something... I actually feel guilty about not running further than that, will have to do a longer run before we go to Colombia.I had a great week training wise, good volume, good variety and for this time of the year it's my personal best for sure. From now on it will go down a bit though, as we're planning to fly to Colombia in the middle of March and things are different there. Running will be hard (no oxygen), biking only on MTB if I'm lucky and no swimming. But it always leaves good memories.
