June 4

Bike
  • 2h 23m 49s
  • 45.80 miles
  • 19.11 Mi/hr

Home to Copper PL, over Swan Mtn and back home. Legs feel trashed today so it's good I'll be off my bike a couple days. Crazy windy and stormy. 3338' climbing.

June 3

Bike
  • 1h 17m 37s
  • 29.51 miles
  • 22.81 Mi/hr

PR on this route by 2:38. Copper Parking Lot split in 41:07. I'm going sub-1:15 (23.6 mph) on this route before summer ends!

Still couldn't really test out killing the downhill from Copper with my 54-11 in aero because the wind was blowing my front 1080 around too much.

TTX felt much better but I was sliding forward on the seat a little so I'm going to slide the seat forward to neutral for the next ride. The seat itself isn't very comfortable so I may switch out to my Madone seat soon and see how it feels.

------------------------------------- Riding TTX today with: A= 10.25 cm. B= 1.3 cm black showing in front.

June 2

Run
  • 42m 53s
  • 4.40 miles
  • 09m 45s /Mi

Easy trail run w/Buddy in the freezing, muddy downpour.

Swim
  • 45m
  • 3000.00 yards
  • -----

Breck pool is closed until 8/15/09 for remodeling. Swam at Silverthorne Rec Center. At just 1000 feet lower altitude swimming is much easier.

1x1000
5x200 on 4 (2:51, 2:45, 2:44, 2:40, 2:40, Ave= 2:44)
1000 (easy 25y breast/back then hard 25y free)

This has got to be the rainiest spring in central Colorado mountain history. It's unbelievable how much rain we've received. It's pouring outside right now. I can't wait for this pattern to break. I'm sick of it. But the clouds do look really cool...

June 1

Legs are a little sore today so I'm taking a full rest day. Back in business tommorrow. Last month didn't turn out as planned largely due to literally ten days of leg muscle soreness thanks to a single run on a 1.5 mile section of downhill. Planning on a big month for June. Going for: Bike: 900 miles. Run: 120 miles. Swim: 40,000 yards.

May 31

Bike
  • 2h 00m
  • 36.98 miles
  • 18.49 Mi/hr

Easy home to start of Vail Pass climb. Rode 10 miles with Melinda. 2365' climbing. Estimated time.

Run
  • 47m 18s
  • 4.40 miles
  • 10m 45s /Mi

Easy trail run in the rain with Buddy on flume trail to cabin and back.

Sport
  • Walking
  • 30m
--------------------- Actually feel fine today. No soreness. Even my calf soreness is now gone. I'm going to do an easy bike/swim/run recovery today. I'm also going to get some photos of my aero position on my Madone. That bike fit just feels so perfect, I need to reproduce those angles as closely as I can on my TTX with the exception of the slightly steeper seat angle. I know that when I'm pushing the Madone hard in a time trial, I do come forward on the seat a bit so I know I can ride a little steeper on the TTX. Once I get the TTX comfortable and I ride it enough to adapt to the steeper seat angle, I'll start reducing my shoulder angle VERY slowly. But it may be that because I've ridden road geometry with aerobars for so many years over my life that I'll just have to ride the TTX a bit stretched out. A 90 degree shoulder angle just feels very cramped and uncomfortable.
