Today, I volunteered at a health fair at my kid's school. I gave a little talk on posture and we did stretches together. Well, I had to give that little talk about 15 times to different classes! I was so exhausted at the end of the day. Demonstrating good posture all day is hard!
I shovelled down supper and took a quick run. I had planned to do about 4 miles, but the sun was so low in the sky that it would have been dangerous to run on the busy roads. The glare is terrible for drivers. My husband pointed this out, and I told him I was scheduled to run 4 and by golly, I was going to run that loop. But once I started out, I knew he was right. So I just ran the first leg of the run and then turned around. Plus, this is supposed to be a light, recovery week.
The route calculator shows this run as 200 feet of climbing - all little short steep hills. About half of this route is on dirt road with lots of slush and ice on it. I had to run with teeny steps for parts of it.

Biked over to the Y to do a swim. I rode the old bike. Lucky for me the wind was against me on the way over when I was still fresh, and behind me on the way home when I was tired and soggy.

For my last set of 200's, I tried to focus on good push-off on my turns. Since my tri in May will be a pool swim, I better start learning some pool skills! I was surprised how much time I gained just by focusing on my turns. I don't flip turn.
2 sets of 10 in the pool at the end of my swim workout.

I did 500 of drills, then 2 rounds of swim golf and I got a personal best of 97! Then final 400 of straight relaxed swimming.
The 97 at swim golf was 36 strokes plus 61 seconds for a 50 yd swim. Last personal best was in May 2006 with swim golf score of 100. Wow, I am actually making progress at swimming...
