Anyone interested in doing a flat, fast 5k this weekend. The Stone Ridge 5k race is this Saturday in my neighborhood (www.stoneridge5k.org) and it's raising money for our local elementary schools. Last year there were only 900 runners, so the chances of placing in AG are pretty good. :) Stone Ridge is located at the intersection of Rt. 50 and Gum Springs Rd. Today is the last day to sign up, so go sign up already!!!

Easy run while the kids were in TKD. New shoes and copious amounts of stretching are paying off.
HA!!!! I just went through my mail that came in today. I received two checks (unexpectedly) that total $200!!! One was a phone rebate that I was notified 2 months ago that I wouldn't be getting and the other was a refund check from some lab work that I had done that TRICARE finally decided to pay. Now that is a very nice end to a very nice day, no?
Very productive day of work. Got my run in. Kids have their homework done. Now it's dinner time.
I love long weekends... Back to work today. Will run later this afternoon.

I have been seriously doubting my preparation and readiness for MCM. Not after yesterday's run. While long and yes, my feet, hips and knees were a little tired at the end, I felt fantastic throughout the run. I spent a little time last night stretching and rolling with "The Stick". I am not sore at all today. At all! Maybe I will make that 4:15 goal at MCM. (I think 4:00 is totally unrealistic... maybe that would be my super secret goal. lol) I'm really excited for MCM now.
Went to church this morning and boy, it was like the message was created for me and me alone. I ended up bawling during this one music video they showed. (That was embarrassing!!) The message was great and just what I needed to hear. I mean to tell ya, God is just speaking volumes to me lately. Life is grand. :)

Stone Ridge 5k Race this morning. Fan-freaking-tastic morning. Gene showed up with the boys at 8:30 and we walked/ran down to the race site (1/2 mile from my house). Brian finished his first 5k this morning. I could not be prouder of him!!! He finished in 43 minutes and that's without training at all. (I've tried, trust me!!) He is proud as a peacock now. I love it!!! The look on his face as we neared the finish line was awesome - determined and happy.
I had a great race, too. I smashed my PR. I'm happy.
