No biking today - Cady Way trail will have to wait. This cold I've been fighting has gotten the better of me. Gotta rest and fight it off before Sunday. So I'm "tapering" at this point.
BTW - it looks like I've lost 7 pounds overnight - haha! I have lost some weight but I was using the scale at Weight Watchers and that weight was done on Wed afternoons. But I'm not doing it anymore (it was something at work and I'm off for the summer) and so now I've weighed myself on my own scale in the morning. BUT it is a loss of about 4 lbs according to my scale since I last weighed myself.

HOT, HOT, HOT!!
Not too smart to start a bike ride at 10:00 in the morning in Florida! But my husband is NOT an early riser and he wanted to come. He about died!! Tomorrow he'll get up earlier .... haha!
Started our "Tour de Central Florida" where we're going to ride every trail here in the area. Today we did the Blanchard Park trail with a loop from our house to get to the trail and looped back - 20 miles. That is the shortest trail.
We've got the following to do: Cady Way mixed with the Cross Seminole Trail (tomorrow) - probably 30+ out and back
Wekiva Trail - about 30 out and back
West Orange Trail with the Lake County trail - maybe 50 out and back
(some trail in Polk County - can't remember the name )- about 70 out and back
Withlacoochee Trail - about 100 out and back
Big plans for the summer!!!

Sprinted 400 yds and walked (with my granddaughter in tow) between sprints.
OWS - at the beach. We practiced running through the waves and then swam a while x 2. The tri next Sunday is at the beach and the start will be running from the beach, through the waves. It's exhausting!
Various: Arms: biceps, triceps, dips, shoulders, row; legs: squats, hamstrings, calves, side leg lifts; abs

(My fastest bike pace yet! The new shoes have improved my time 1 mph)
My time was 1:50.10. Got first in my AG but I was the oldest female there! My time this year was 8 minutes slower than last year but I think there were two factors in this: first, the swim was supposedly the same distance but I don't think it was - last year seemed to be awfully fast for as badly as I swam and this year seemed to be much longer (and I swam much better this time - came out in the top third); secondly my run SUCKED big time! I was way too hot!! The one I did last year was in April -- what a difference two months make here in Florida! I don't know why they didn't start it earlier, but by the time I got to the run it was nearly 9:30 and that is way to stinking late in Florida to be running. I have literally been sick all day (and it's 7:00 p.m. now). During the ride, I used at least one whole bottle pouring it over my head -- felt good on the ride, but hot, then on the run I took my water belt and used most of that water pouring it over my head. Still couldn't cool off. I felt every bit as bad on this run as I did on last October's oly and it was only half the distance. My head still feels like it's twice as hot as my body and is pounding despite multiple meds!! Even my daughter said she fantasized about taking her head off and pouring water into it while she was running - haha! My legs felt great throughout the entire race. I really enjoyed the bike with my new shoes. Then on the run my legs still felt great. I would walk and think I feel great -- run -- and then I'd run and want to vomit because of the heat!
I just don't know what to do about the heat and getting dehydrated. There's got to be something I can do to prevent it. I'm going to try to train with some sort of sports drink between now and the oly in July (in TN). We'll see how that works. If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears!
