  • Comments: Good race. it was meant as an early season test and I did better than expected. I am happy with the result. it was my best percentage placement at this distance yet. I'll be in the top 10% soon enough!

  • Comments: This was my third ironman organized race, and all have been well done. At each, I'd say my only complaint is the lame food afterwards. Many thanks to the army of volunteers!

  • Comments: It was a great executed race by the RD. This is only my 2nd half, both from the same RD. I would race anything he puts on. I'm sure I will do another race with Keith in the near future.

  • Comments: The organization and volunteers were great. The run course was really well stocked and stationed. We needed all of the water, nutrition and sponges out there. Not so sure about the Ironman race though. It seemed really commercial and impersonal. I liked Keith's races before Ironman infiltrated.

  • Comments: Had a great time meeting everyone that came down from the SWBKRUN mentor group. We are already looking to other events this year to meet up for we had such a great time. As far as the race. Not sure what the IM brand added to Keiths race. The Expo was tiny compared to last year from what I understand and it was only IM brand sponsors, no local guys it seemed. Not that I do races for schwag but at Mooseman they had finishers towels, shirts and a water bottle, and I believe they had the same at Lonestar last year, but not this year, guess that's the price you pay for switching over to the IM brand... The race itself was very well run. Volunteers were great, course was fun, lots of spectators, tons of well stocked and manned aid stations, etc.

  • Comments: Organization was good. Race route was good (flat). Volunteer support was good. I was disappointed in the post-race food, which was limited to pizza, bananas, pretzels, salad, and they had some cookies but you had to ask for them (and then they were disappointing cinnamon cookies of some sort). I missed the ice cream and cookies they had last year (oreos maybe)? Just felt like the selection was limited. The band they had was good. I'll do it again, especially knowing it's 2 weeks earlier in April 2011.

  • Comments: Keith and his staff put on great races! Big reason I came to TX to do this race is I know that his races are top notch. I wasn't impressed with the changes Ironman the brand has done. Expo sucked..all shirts are K Swiss which for women run super small and short..tech shirts were okay but t shirts felt like fabric was that of $3 t shirt. Only Ironman sponsors merchandise is sold at expo now so selection is limited. Gone are the nice finisher t shirts & bottles like at Mooseman. Sprint and Oly folks got towels when they finished but not the 70.3 folks. They had women cut tech shirts as race shirts which is great idea on surface but every women registered thinking they'd be men's shirt sizes so order 1-2 size smaller than they should have as the shirts run small. Ironman should make a note of that on registration form and allow you to select a t shirt that might actually fit well. Race volunteers were awesome, aid stations organized well and consistent so we'd know what would be

  • Comments: Actually was registered for the sprint saturday, but great opportunity for me, since they cancelled the sprint swim. I didn't do any of the Sprint, just turned in my chip. Kind of a last minute decision to do this, but felt like at least prepared on the swim and bike. Worked out well for me.

  • Comments: This was a great race and I was pleased overall. I wanted to get a massage at the end, but when I went over there, they said there was an hour wait. More massage therapists would have been nice. The 3 HIMs I've done have all been put on by Endorfun and I have been impressed with all of them. Very well done.

  • Comments: 1st 70.3 is done. First HIM distance. So hard to compare to others, and if the race change much from last year. So many volunteers out there, and lots of support from people all the way on the bike out to the pass turnaround in the middle of no where. I go back and forth on if I like the 4 loop run. Yes great for spectators, but tough when you have to run it over and over again. As my host is leaving Houston, not sure if I'll be back for it again. But great race, and an even better weekend.
