  • Comments: Just a couple of things overall. First for those that have read my race reports this season, Thank You. It makes me perform better and observe things so that I can put them in here. I am thinking about you as I'm on the course. You have gotten me through some tough times not only in a race, but in training as well. It might sound dumb, but I know your watching me and that motivates me. In the end, it comes down the the Athlete vs the course. That is a fact. But what often does not get pointed out is the people that helped to get you there. The IronSherpa that told you to suck it up and finish that last mile repeat, that carried your bag to transition so that you would have those extra 5 calories to use on the course and 10,000 other things they do to make your life a bit easier on race day. And I would like to personally Thank Brett Daniels (Rocket_Man) for coaching me the last half of this season. He said that he could not take credit for my last 3 min PR at Steelhead.

  • Comments: I know a lot of folks have problems with the drafting on the bike. I didn't see it. I love the race and as I reflect from my balcony of the condo I am staying at I will be sure to come back. I had a great time.

  • Comments: What an amazing experience. I would certainly place it right up there as the best sporting event that I have participated. It was great to race with so many incredible, fit, elite athletes from all over the world. The five coolest things that happend to me while I was there: 1. Run into Dan A. at the swim practice. What a great guy and amazing athlete. 2. Thursday dinner with Jorge, Dan, Jorge's friend and my family. It was cold as hell, the food was colder and they couldn't fill the coffee fast enough, but dinner with new friends is always cool. 3. Hug from Chrissie Wellington at the finish line. She is a hottie in person. 4. A family stopped me on the street in Clearwater and asked if I was doing the race. When I said yes they were awestruck as they were volunteering and never met a racer before. They had me take pictures with their daughter. And they talked about getting into running and biking. Sometimes our commitment to our sport inspires others to do the same and that

  • Comments: WTC knows how to deliver world class events for sure. They still have some race bugs to work on but I will be back next year for sure because the race is awesome!

  • Comments: This was amazing! People can say whatever they want about world championships and drafting, but I wil always remember the day I competed in a world championship triathlon. And I will be very proud of my accomplishment when I tell people I competed in a world championship. The logistics behind a race like this amazes me. The volunteers were fantastic and this was without a doubt the best event I have EVER participated in. If I could do it again next year I would, but next year I'll be doing IMFL instead.

  • Comments: The race was put on perfectly. There were so many people there from all over the world, and so many world class athletes- it was unreal. The volunteers knew everything you asked them, and if they didn't have an answer, they wouldn't stop hunting someone down until your question was answered. They personally escorted you and your bike to the rack, and after giving them your bags, they made sure you knew exactly how the race was going to look. It was incredible! The course is super fast, and so I guess drafting is inevietable, but from my perspective, it seemed like if you didn't want to draft, you could find a way out of it, most of the time. The course marshals were doing all they could, and I saw people in the penalty tent and people getting penalties. I hope they keep the excitement of a championship race for the 70.3 distance alive and this event continues to live up to expectations. What a great weekend!

  • Comments: WOW... What can I say about the World Chamionships" I was lucky to be there and intimidated by the talent everywhere. This race was like nothing I'd ever seen before. Evey Athlete was elite. No one walking the run course. No one slow. Holy Crapola. I got a taste of "The Show"... A HUGE Congrats to "The Borinator" for spanking the course today with a PR of 4h 52m and to SBNM for breaking the 6 hour time barrier with a PR of 5h 53m. These 2 have been close to me this entire year and I have been lucky that they a=have included me in their lives. I truly am humbled to have participated in this event BUT... more than that, and more than whatever inspiration a race of this caliber proffers, there is ONE differece that I don't think any of those elites had... The Friends I have... In NO particular order, the following friends are the reason I made it to the starting line and across the finish line. I am privileged to be surrounded by these people everyday of my life and remain
