  • Organised?Yes
  • Events on time?Yes

  • Lots of volunteers to help?Yes
  • Plenty of drink stations?Yes

  • Post race activities? Average
  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: The swim was disappointing after training so hard for it. Way to short and crowded. I felt like it was an excuse not to lay out the right length course. Transition security was non-existent and I was concerned my bike could "walk" and with transition open there were quite a few people just hanging around which could cause delays. Sweatshirt was pretty basic and what's with BROWN!

  • Comments: no volunteers on the bike course, nobody directing traffic at turns. swim start was chaotic with the longer races having to run thru the later waves of people standing on the beach. 3 foot wide coned area to bike in with 3000 of your buddies. post race food sucked (for the cost of the entry i'm sorry, i do expect better) and the awards for age groupers (for the sprint) were the same for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. again, sorry but for the entry fee i do expect better. this is my second race put on by this outfit and if it werent for the other sponsors at the other one i wouldnt have done this one. i will not do another race by this promotion again. absolutely terrible.

  • Comments: Quite possibly the worst race shirt ever! Why even bother? How about don't include crappy prison issue sweatshirts and lower the cost of the race. Will probably see lots of homeless guys in Chicago eventually wearing these things...Great advertisement???!!!

  • Comments: Like that so many people I know were up there... Didn't like the fall... Or the mean cop.... Next year...I am breaking 1:30...since that was what I was shooting for this year! :)

  • Comments: Only my second tri and my first was at LITH in June who put on a great race. Happy with my time and new bike, not used to free for all transition areas. Competitors were great but the event seemed a bit unorganized.

  • Comments: The course saves this race. Everything else is frustrating. I know some boycott it, but there were close to 1000 people there, so that's not exactly working. I wish it were run in a more professional way (like if the course talk is supposed to be at 8pm, don't start it at 730; don't let transition turn into a free for all; have better markings on the bike; measure correctly, etc), because the organization doesn't do the venue justice. Fontana is so heartachingly beautiful. Sigh.

  • Comments: The maps could be much better. The directions to the packet pickup place could be better. I never figured out where the transition area was until I watched other people going there. The transition area was a free-for-all, with racking not organized by heat. This was only my second triathlon--the other was four years ago--but I thought the Stoneman Tri in Springfield, IL, was much better run.
