  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: The last 10 miles of the bike were super shit, the lake was crap, but the race was still fun. Just needs a bit of work. I think it's totally unacceptable to let people swim in a lake at which the bacteria level was over 500 all week long leading up to the race, and the day before it went down to the acceptable level of 7? I say BS!

  • Comments: Having two transitions to set up was a bit of a pain. The busing for spectators made it difficult for them to watch the race as well. The course was nice, minus the last 8 miles of the bike. The volunteers were great and there were a lot of them. Overall I think it was well run and a pretty good race.

  • Comments: Point to point transition was tough to set up by I knew what I was in for. Lake was not as bad as everyone that was complaining. 10 miles of Central Ave should not be in a race. Overall, well run race that I enjoyed and I really enjoyed Providence when I wasn't racing. Two tired thumbs up.

  • Comments: Overall this was a good event. It was well managed, with a few exceptions, and the volunteers were fantastic. I did have a couple of issues though: 1) The decision to swim at Lincoln Woods. I'm sure this was because of the sponsor (Amica), since their HQ is in Lincoln, RI but damn. Really? a lake swim in "the Ocean State"? Not to mention in a lake that is locally referred to as "Goose Poop Pond". 2) There were multiple changes to the course that were not even mentioned during the race briefings. The three things I noticed were a change to the swim wave times (not a huge deal 5 minutes for me), three turns on the bike course (basically adding a block of about 1.5 miles), and a little jaunt into a parking lot on the run adding about 200 meters. I'm sure that the latter two changes were needed to adjust things for the proper distance, but at least tell your athletes about it. 3) The decision to have us ride over that God-forsaken stretch of Central Avenue. It was horrible. 4)

  • Comments: Not a bad race. The point to point was much more convient than two years ago, when you had an hours drive to Naragansett. It was a nice little weekend vacation for us. My wife wants to do the race in two years.

  • Comments: Late start to swim, Bike course unsafe..lake much worse than ocean due to high temps...not the best course...voluteers were great..post food below average ...pizze not great
