  • Comments: it is a great race - TONS of people, and a fair number of guys like me who just go out and do it without much training (some tubbies here and there too!) Swim sucks every year - hoping it will be easier next year. No Bonfire this year - maybe next year.

  • Comments: This race really is a great one. We may return for Olivia's birthday weekend again next year. The food tent was well supplied for the huge number, the beer tent didn't run out before I got there, the volunteers were everywhere and knew their jobs, the sound system was clear, the swim course was well-guarded, packet pickup was smooth. Even though this is my first year, it's my 6th sprint triathlon, and as for overall race experience, this one was top. Nice tshirt that had more color than usual, along with custom water bottle I will use. I didn't get a finishers medal the size of a homemade ceramic ashtray from the 70s, like I did at TriRock, but I wouldn't expect one for a sprint really. I'll take a well-thought out course and free Dogfish Head beer any day.

  • Comments: I would like to say that this was a very well run and organized race. I love Dewey Beach and vacation there every year and was so happy to finally come back and do the town triathlon. The event did start 30mins late but I wasnt upset about that. I did think it was a little weird that as a clyde, I was in the 10th wave. Every other race my wave is usually the first but it was a nice change and I didnt mind it at all. Lots of great volunteers and town support and alot of police presence assuring that we had the roads safely all to ourselves. Post race food was amazing! I felt like I was in a restaurant with all the different items they had for athletes. Also, a beer truck was a nice touch. Good swag for the money, (shirt, water bottle, samples of things, etc.) Great atmosphere also. Being able to sit on the beach after the race was nice and everyone was super friendly. I am not a fan of ocean swims but I would definately do this race again. *On a side note, there was a swimmer who went

  • Comments: Late start. I understand this is their usual. No great desire to do the ocean swim again.
