  • Comments: I wish I could have just put my bad race behind me, and enjoyed Shannon's company during that last stretch. I am NOT a pro, I am NOT someone who will place in races ... I am a weekend warrior, who needs to enjoy the training and races as a fun activity, and NOT a competition. So, I will commit to having FUN in these races no matter what my performance is! As for the organization of the race, it was good. The main change I would make is to have someone providing finsh-line drinks to participants, instead of making us walk all the way back to the TA to get hydration. The finish line is a part of a street festival, so there were vendors there ... but no support for the triathletes. I would do this race again, though.

  • Comments: The course was challenging, but not too tough to really bear down and push through. Very well organized! However, somehow they have to be able to penalize swimmers that enter a swim time that is nowhere close to what they can do. It really effects the other athletes and makes it tougher on everyone swimming after them. If you're reading this...please be conscious of this and enter an accurate swim time in these pool-swim triathlons. I love this event, and will be back next year.

  • Comments: This is a great setting for racing. The country roads are beautiful and quiet, with a good sprinkle of hills. The neighborhood is very nice with a pretty run along the path around the lake. The street festival and general race atmosphere are just fantastic. The pool was a bit warm, but the swim was short enough that I never got overheated. They added 100 slots to the race cap this year and it capped out for the first time. Setup always does a great job with their races. The food looked great, but I had to split and couldn't wait in the line for it. This is the first race that I've done more than once. I sure hope I'm able to do it again next year!

  • Comments: Overall, this race was organized wonderfully. My only complaint is that they seemed to cater more towards the fast people than us slow people. By the time I was done with the race, the massage people had packed up and gone home and the caterers had packed up and gone home. Also, they started the awards ceremony before the last person had finished. I just thought that was rude. It seemed disrespectful to the slower people. For my first race, I was very pleased. Ten minutes after the race when I was super tired and standing was an effort, my husband asked me if I thought I would ever want to do it again, and I answered without hesitation - YES! It is a real feeling of accomplishment to have done it. I am already starting to plan when and where the next ones will be!

  • Comments: This race was not as put together as the NCTS races I am used to participating. The pre-race meeting was 10 minutes before the start and was late getting started.
