  • Comments: The Max Performance team did a great job. The start was delayed about 15 or 20 minutes, but overall everything else was well run and incredibly well organized. I think this was one of the few - if not the only - races that was not canceled due to weather. We were all rewarded with a beautiful day! I will definitely do this race again and would encourage others to do the same! I have not done the Danskin race but I am glad that there is a smaller option for womens-only racing, and I hope the Title 9 race keeps participation in the 600-700 range. All in all, a great day and a wonderful experience!

  • Comments: Hats off to these race directors. They did an incredible job getting this course ready for 600 women, many who were new to the sport. They also held clinics and meetings leading up to the race which I think helped prepare many of the women.Much more organized than Danskin. I will say that they need to have more swim support in the water for that kind of race. They had kayaks but no swim angels.

  • Comments: I couldn't have asked for a better day - Max created a fantastic event. With the support of the Max peeps and the BT family I felt completely prepared! Thanks to MAV for the sleep-over, KathyG for her words of wisdom and the newbie BT-ers for helping me realize that I'm not alone with my bag-o-nerves.

  • Comments: The volunteers, participants and supporters were what made the race fun to be in. As a newbie, I pushed myself the best I knew how and learned a bunch along the way. I blame my mistakes along the way (i.e. turns in the swim, drinking while biking and preparation for transitions) on my lack of experience in the race day scenario. It can only get better from here!

  • Comments: The event started late I think because of the cleanup involved with the tropical storm - so no worries there. I am so glad the RD didn't cancel the race, it was a PeRFECT day! Great race, well-run, I'd totally do this one again. Am also glad they put the newbies at the last waves too; that helped to keep the field safe for the more experienced racers. Was a great race for first-timers, I'd encourage any newbies to do this one!

  • Comments: I was really happy with this race. Albeit, also very surprised. I by no means expected to win my age group. I really came out hoping to get in the top 10 of my group but ended up doing much better than I expected. I am also pretty happy with my over all rank. I can not downplay how much of a difference Mav's bike made (as compared to my mountain bike) and I am so thankful to her! For next year, assuming I continue, I will need to bite the bullet and buy a road bike and more appropriate tri- clothing... This was my first year of these races- Title 9 was my second race- and I think that it is something I am going to keep doing. I had a great time all around and I really like knowing some of the people at this race. BT was great in providing a forum where we could connect and get out and practice together. I am looking forward to more practice sessions and races with BT-ers!

  • Comments: Max performance was heroic. Tropical storm Hanna came through Saturday night, and only cleared out Sunday morning around 2-4 in the morning, which meant the race organizers had to put everything back together in the 4.5 hours between 4 am and the 8:30 start. We started about 15 minutes late...amazingly little considering....

  • Comments: Max Performance did an amazing job of making everyone feel welcome, supported, and excited. With all of the pre-race events and emails, it felt like I was part of a family. It was so awesome to be so supported by a great organization. And to have my dad drive 4 hours that morning just to see me race... awesome. I can't thank Niki enough. I couldn't tell her this at the race because i knew I'd get emotional, but I NEVER would have followed through on this if it weren't for her. She made it seem so easy and so possible, and it was! We worked our butts off, we motivated each other, and having that person there to make you push just that much harder during the race was amazing. This year has been just one amazing thing after another and I am so excited to see what's next!
