  • Comments: The race went about as I planned. I've just got to train harder on the bike and realize I can push myself harder during the race. I've never blown-up in a race, so I guess I shouldn't worry about it so much.

  • Comments: Great way to end my first season. Thanks to all the AWESOME volunteers. Especially you guys at the finish line. Not sure why they were short handed there as everywhere else seemed to have more than enough people. I will race here again. The only suggestion would be to move the strippers back closer to the transition. So now I've finished an IM 70.3 and a small local HIM. Both are very cool in their own right but at the same time they are very different animals. I don't know if I prefer one over the other. But I do know I like this distance more than any of the others that I've raced. Its incredibly rewarding, you suffer a lot, and its manageable while still trying to live your life.

  • Comments: I really love this race. We did the first one in 2003 and this is my first time back. Races of this size are great for a number of reasons. Cheaper entry, more local old-school feel, lot of local support and...wait for it...NO DRAFTING! I liked the course, the organizers did a great job and I'll be back next year. Thanks, Greg. Sorry to hear about Milford's DNF. Considering the number of boxes and, coolers and t-shirts he loaded into the rental truck Thursday night, he certainly deserved better. And congratulations Mr. Ritter. You are one scary fast young man.

  • Comments: Race was well organized, plenty of enthusiastic volunteers. Loved the first timers finishers cup. The resort was very nice and a great venue for the race. I stuck to my race plan (thanks EN) and was pleased with my execution. Once again I'm so thankful for the blessings bestowed upon me to do these events and to have a wonderful supportive family.

  • Comments: Good race. Challenging because of the hills. Volunteer are so supportive. Everyone cheered at the end, probably because I was near the last to come through. Boy Scouts were awesome helpers. Realized most people can do a triathlon...a sprint, but HIM is not for everyone, and may not be for me again. It's grueling and it puts a lot of stress on my family and me. When Richard DNF'd, I realized anyone can. Sometimes you win; sometimes the race wins. I learned a lot out there. The body has amazing potential if we will just tap into it. And it can quickly recover from most anything. There were definitely times I thought "How stupid of me to be out here at my age!", then I'd just run some more. I must have looked pretty stupid, too. And I stunk. And I was so sweaty. But I did it, and today, I'm going to put that 70.3 magnet on my car and be proud.

  • Comments: I like this race even after a second time. Bike course is nice and scenic. Swim is always good and run is nice if it were so hilly...Low key race with a small crowd. Suits me better than 2500 people. Resort is nice if you want to bring the family to hang out.
