  • Comments: I may be a bit spoiled by triathlons, and I'm willing to admit that. ;) The aid stations seemed very spread out, and I was suprised that they only had gu available at one spot (mile 19 for the marathon), but I understand that this is common for marathons & half-marathons. Evidently though, they ran out of gu on the half-marathon course by the time my mom made it to the gu station. It would seem that several of the bands and most of the cheer squads that were supposed to be on the course were put off by the cold on race morning. I was expecting more in the way of music and cheering, not that music is essential to a good marathon. The post-race area was a bit too spread out, and I never found the post-race massage tables (apparently they were there, I just didn't see them). All-in-all, though, given the sheer size of this event, I have to think the organizers did a pretty darn good job. With nearly 40,000 participants, keeping these races on track had to be quite a challenge! Thank

  • Comments: It's huge and very well run. They could use more food at aid stations prior to mile 20, however.

  • Comments: These events are run like well oiled machines. I was amazed at their efficiency in getting 30,000 people to the start line, seemingly without a hitch. The course was great, perfect for my first, and I would consider coming back here to try and qualify for Boston. The weather was a little cooler than perfect, but not bad. Thanks to Julia (juliapurr) and her sis for dragging my ass around all weekend. Her sister kicked ass in the half, and it looks like Julia might have BQ'd. Anyway, it was nice to have company and saved me a rental car fee.
