  • Comments: Pretty good job for the inaugural year. The swim was managed perfectly. Maybe they could have numbered the bouys (I kind of forgot how many I had passed). The bike course needs to be improved a lot. The cones at the turns prevented any kind of overtaking. And the bike trail along 611 isn't really wide enough to support multiple bikes. They should really consider closing the road and cutting it down to one direction. The run was great, excellent support from vacationing campers as we ran through their camp ground. Post race was good. Sandwich was tasty and plenty of variety of drinks. (Didn't notice any fresh fruit, but didn't exactly look either) Overall, good race, it will get better, Im sure.

  • Comments: I loved this race!! There was a challenging swim, a nice flat bike course and a run course that ran through the Assateague camping site. There was a snack bar that was open early so friends/family could grab something to eat. The beach is beautiful. The course is spectator friendly. The run out was along a paved path where volunteers or the campers had written encouraging messages in chalk all the way down the first mile. The run was around the campground, which included ponies wandering around the course and at times, navigating around ponies.

  • Comments: This is my 5th Sprint to date, and by far the toughest. The swim was daunting. They called this Sprint "The Equalizer" of the Eastern Shore Tri series, and that it was. I was very disappointed since I ended up first in my age group (again, after they took out the overall winners who also were in my age group), but the awards were to be given two hours later in Ocean City to wrap up their "Beachfest" weekend. Since I still had to retrieve my dog and drive another 3 hours home, I opted not to stay. I had a friend pick up the medal, and he said very few people were there to get their award, probably for the same reason. I hope next year they choose to give out awards after the race. Though I loved saying I conquered the ocean (with some help), and had a pretty decent finish, I'll have to really think hard whether I'll do this one again next year. If I feel my swimming has improved, then I might go for it. For the first year though, this event was very well organized. The volunteers did
