  • Comments: This was a great training day for me. It showed me my weaknesses and was a great race to guage what I need to work on this summer. Running is definately my strongest discipline and I am a 'middle of the packer' when it comes to swimming and biking. From this I have learned that this year I need to focus on my swim and bike. Great race though...I hope to do again next year and break 6 hours!

  • Comments: Good venue, not too crowded and lots of on course support throughout. Temps can swing from cold to hot this time of year but overall, should be just right. Good size for early racing and easy to access from most parts of North and South Carolina.

  • Comments: I was rather disappointed with the post race activities (as compared to B2B Half). The medical personell were also a little incompetent and didn't know what to do with anything they had. I had to go to Elizebethtown's Urgent Care Center to get any kind of help and it took an hour for them to finish. They also had no energy drinks, just Pepsi and Mtn. Dew. However, the lake and the scenery are absolutely GORGEOUS and the bike/run courses are THE FLATTEST that I have ever seen anywhere!!!!!!! It's like TT heaven!!!! Bottom line: don't wreck, get sunstroke, or any other kind of ailment at this Half and you should enjoy it!!

  • Comments: Solidly organized race overall. More skilled volunteers on run course would have been nice, but I just appreciate having them well-stoked more than anything else. Set-up does good work

  • Comments: May do the two halfs again next year on back to back weekends but if I do, I'll plan it that way rather than doing one and then deciding to do the second one.

  • Comments: What a great time I had (apart from the pain and suffering)! I am very pleased with my overall time and ability to finish this thing! Its a friggin long way! :-) I swam in the lake with the boys after the race and that was awesome. I was really sore the next day (thighs really sore and knee/below knee ITB painful to walk down stairs with). Less sore today (Monday) but definitely feeling it still. Only complaint is the parking situation- I got parked in (organizers squeezed people in everywhere) so couldn't leave when I wanted. Actually only managed to get out about 2 hours later. But other than that, the course support was great, pretty location, and great endorphin enduced buzz afterwards! :-)

  • Comments: I went into this race hoping to break 6 hours. I am disappointed that I wasn't able to make that goal. I know I am capable of it - now I just need to do it!
