  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: Volunteers were great. Bike course direction was well managed. Next year, I'd like to see a graphic of transition on the website....they've been doing this race long enough that they should be able to share the plan regardless of whether transition is in the grass or in the parking lot. I have mixed feelings about this race, and need to do another Olympic distance before I really figure out how I feel about it. I hated the trail run, but that might be mitigated by practice and more appropriate shoes. It was my first OLY and my third tri overall. I quit all endurance sports in mile 12-18 on the bike, but I am over that now. I am proud to have finished. Thanks for reading. Q

  • Comments: I didn't think I had a good race when I finished. With the footing the way it was on the run and the number of people that were passing me on the bike, I thought I just didn't have it today. However, when I got home I looked at my previous results and I realized that I had just gotten a PR by about 12 minutes!!! If I have one complaint about this race is that when I went to pick up my bib and drop off my bike, they did not explain how the transitions would work. I thought I had the perfect rack position picked out, but when we came in from the swim, they made us all run to the back of transition so instead of being able to go right to my bike, I had to run down one isle and then up another to get to my transition area. Had I known what they were doing, I would have picked a totally different transition spot. They really need to explain the flow of the transition area. I had even asked where the in and out was and they never said a word about having to run to the other end before

  • Comments: Well run and much more what I would hope to get from RAM. They had it well staffed, course well marked, Vols at all turns and a couple of cops directing traffic at bigger intersections. Run course got yucky in spots but rain+trail=mud. Went well overall. Massive hydration helpd immensely. Nutrition seemed about right, as did pacing. Just about broke 3 hours and wasnt even trying did not want to really press before Racine.

  • Comments: RAM did a good job with this race. Nice goodie bag with nice bike jersey, organized race and plenty of volunteers. If it wasn't for the mud race course I would rate this race as a 5.
