  • Comments: Great race. Next year I'd like to run with the 1:52:00 pace group. I think a 5 minute PR would be great. Maybe if I can improve on my run this year I can come in even faster.

  • Comments: Not bad for my first half marathon. I wanted to beat my sister who came out for this event and I ended up beating her by 19 seconds :) Mission Accomplished.

  • Comments: I was so happy to share this day with so many friends. I still feel great post race, and am enjoying a few days with a little slower moving. I have a blister on my right second toe, but other than that, my foot (the right one that had surgery) is feeling awesome. I have been on my feet all day at work, and still the foot feels great. I learned a lot this race about fueling as it all came together for me. I learned that starting a couple of days BEFORE the race sure can make a difference. I also learned to not be afraid to do both – they electrolyte AND the water at each aid station. But now, I am soooo ready to get on back to some speed work and get to running for that Half in May!!

  • Comments: I ran the Country Music Half last year and I really enjoyed the bands. This race I didn't really feel the same. I'll probably run the new Rock N Roll Chicago half in the summer.

  • Comments: Good race overall, though I had expected more bands. The music just didn't keep me going like I had thought it would.

  • Comments: Overall the race was well put together and a good race. My expectations where a little high and I expected more music to be played.

  • Comments: I'm just disappointed because I have run this distance many times before both in races and in training and it all just felt plain awful. I have not been recovering well from any runs over 5-6 miles well since I fell Christmas eve. I made a decision to enjoy myself with my friends in the days leading up to the race so no regrets really...the meeting and socilaizing were more important.

  • Comments: Considering the nearly 30000 participants between the half and full marathon, this is UNBELIEVABLY well organized.

  • Comments: Well organized and lots of volunteers. The course is run through some rather ugly parts of town, but you can't beat the weather. It was 79 degrees Thursday-Sunday. It's a great motivator for running in the winter and a great little get away for me.

  • Comments: Awesome race and potentially fast course. Didn't really live up to my potential here, but will do better next time. Lot's of fun.

  • Comments: After a while, I was able to find Mom in the family reunion area. She crushed it with a 2:06 and second in her AG! Still my hero. :). Then we made our way to the last 1/8 mile of the Marathon course to watch for Jamie, who blew me and my expectations away by coming in 3:55, a full 30min PR. What a great day. :)

  • Comments: They always do a great job with these races. Even with the huge numbers of racers they still handle everything very well. It was a good day: I was perfectly happy with my race time, I brought my flip flops for after the race (even though the whole time I thought I had forgotten them), and most unbelievable of all the Arizona Cardinals are NFC Champions and are going to the Super Bowl!

  • Comments: Great, well run race, especially in light of the size. Great aid station and lots of cheering. Bands on the course were kind of gimicky to me. Couldn't really hear them until you were a few hundred yards out and then as soon as you were past them, it was quiet again. Glad I had my MP3 player. Course is monotonous with long straight stretches.

  • Comments: The gel station was around mile 8 -- a little too late in my opinion. Glad I had one on me to use earlier. I need to do the full mary next year...

  • Comments: The race organizers did a really good job with everything except the toilet situation. There was close to 40,000 people at the race but there were only 300 port a potties at the starting area ( and I question if there were actually 300). The wait time was no less than 35 minutes which caused many people, like me, to have to wait to use a head on the course. Because of this situation I spent a very long 6 minutes waiting to go to the bathroom DURING the race. That really pissed me off. The official results list my time as 2:30:19 but I consider my time to be six minutes faster than that.

  • Comments: I really like this race. It's a bit of a pain to get to the start, but we had a friend drop us off. That makes it so much easier. Right now I feel quite beat-up. Tomorrow is a day off, and Tuesday begins swim training for the spring. Hooray.

  • Comments: An expensive race to be sure, but very well organized. Definitely a "for profit" organization. PF Chang's is a great sponsor. Only request would be a nicer t-shirt; maybe DriFit vs. cotton.
