  • Comments: As expected a well organized event. It was a toss up between Patriot and Mooseman for me. The deciding factor was that BT was comming to town, and I was rewarded for the decision. Getting the chance to meet Ron and Marmadaddy was a chance I may not get very often. I am greatful to both of them for all they do on this site along with countless others who quitly contibute to BT and our sport in general. Getting the chance to spend the weekend with them was something I will never forget. The race was one of stamina and my pace was set with that in mind. Tacticaly, I could not have planned or executed it any better. Little issues like forgeting my endurolytes on the bike and walking the hills were little things that were adjusted for early. Even my sore shoulder could not wreck the day. It was amazing. In most races, I am writing the race report in my head as I go. This race was no exception. The difference is the time out on the course is longer, and decisions take longer to show results.

  • Comments: I have heard nothing but great things about Keith Jordan and the races he puts on and this being my first race of his, I was not disappointed. I look forward to doing it again next year.

  • Comments: Top notch race!! Great course and great experience. Going into the race my goal was to break 6 hours. I thought if I could break 5:45 that would be fantastic. I never would have thought that I could run my first 1/2 in 5 hours. Even 24 hours after the race, I am still on cloud nine and just in awe that I could do something like that. I want to thank Rob and Mike for all those inspires during that mid-winter training to keep me focused and motivated. I also want to thank my family for supporting me in this crazy hobby that I obsess over way to much.

  • Comments: Great aid stations, great volunteers, really awesome goodies (I kept thinking that I HAD to finish so I could wear my hat and shirt guilt-free), great snacks. A special shout-out to my personal kayak escort and the people on the beach that waited for the last of us to come in. my only complaint is not getting to see the Moose.

  • Comments: I have to say that all the volunteer support out on the course and in the park was just awesome. Lots of great folks making the race safe and well organized. This was a tough one to choose for a first HIM and this early in the season. I can't say I won't be back to try it again ;)

  • Comments: Even though I didn't go sub-5, and the bike sucked, the rest of the race was great, and I beat last years time by 16 minutes (most of it on the run). My three half IM races so far: Mooseman 2007 s35:23 T1 2:31 b2:53:02 T2 1:22 r1:35:07 Mooseman 2006 s37:49 T1 3:00 b2:53:58 T2 2:14 r1:46:18 Timberman 2005 s45:39 T1 4:00 b3:02:22 T2 2:17 r2:04:25 Great to see so many BTers this weekend - HUGE congratulations to Jeff (Jackemy) and Mike (MikeJ) on just destroying their first ever halfs, both of them in just over 5 hours.
