  • Comments: Considering how little I trained for this, the fact that I ran 3 miles the day before, and all my niggling knee issues, this was a great run. My only goal was to finish the race, and not trash my knees and ruin my tri season, and I think I managed that. It was great to be able to be there as Chris and Renee finished their first marathons! Other than the late start, I think this race was well-run, and one I would consider doing again.

  • Comments: my race wasn't the best but that was my fault, everything else was AWESOME. comet and jeepfleeb were sooper cool to stay out there and cheer everyone in even though it was cold and wet there for a bit. rixie was soooo good to trixie, kept my spirits up even when i felt like i wanted to tear the heads off cute little bunnies. (i was cranky the last few miles) and my favorite part of the whole day was giving away beers to finishers that looked like hell (and a close second was watching rene and max cross the finish line:))

  • Comments: I had a lot of fun at this race. I especailly had a great time at dinner Friday night and having to meet other BT'rs. It was also nice to see friendly faces on the course. Kudo's to Aaron and Hayley for hanging out in the crappy weather to keep the beer cold for all the half and marathon finishers, and to all the hlaf marathon finishers who waited for all the marathoners to finish. You all rock!!!

  • Comments: Well, my thoughts on the heart surgery/base training are the biggest thing that I've taken out of this race, but I think it's worth mentioning: My knee really f'ing hurts! I could barely walk the remainder of the day after the race --- couldn't bend my knee, if it was bent, couldn't unbend it, and certainly couldn't put pressure on it. I lighted rubbed out the quad and IT band, iced it and took Advil, and today it is years better. Whew! Lane and Jess -- thanks for sticking with me as we took forever to finish; your company is most appreciated! Haley and Aaron -- it's worth saying again, so I will: Thanks.

  • Comments: Awesome, awesome race, except for: 1. The awful weather 2. the race starting 30 minutes late and having to speakers so you could hear what was happening The good things: 1. PLENTY of aid stations 2. getting beads at mile 11 3. decent post race food - although i couldn't bring myself to eat the Columbia House food at 9 a.m. I am really looking forward to doing another half mary sometime this year. And I was really proud of myself for following through with the running program- since my longest run before I started training for this in Nov., was only 6 miles. I can't wait to do another one...and of course there is the possibility of running a full mary in a few years!? :) Thanks everyone for a great weekend, it was the most fun I've had in a long time!

  • Comments: Race started late. Tom said he overheard it was because the set up crew didn't want to set up the timers in the rain. They had to wait for everything to get set up. There were no oranges left at the aid station. Aid stations were very well manned. I thanked a lady who was raking up cups and she just lit up like a 1000watt bulb.

  • Comments: Wasn't impressed with the delayed start. They said it was for lightning....but did they not realize that we were already standing outside in the same f-ing weather??? Isn't it supposed to harder to hit a moving target?
