  • Comments: I liked this race a lot better this year - I think I was more prepared for the course this year. I would still ilke to see the bike course moved off the highway, but otherwise it's a good race. Just be ready for some long, slow hills on the bike.

  • Comments: I had a great time doing this race. Not only was it very organized, but even after the race, they had tons of food for the hungry triathlete. I was going to give this race a 9, but because they served Yuengling Lager, it automatically gets a 10. Had a blast and I'm looking forward to doing this race next year.

  • Comments: Always one of the best. It's a few very small things away from a 5 from me, so I'll give it a 4. Either way, it's a keeper on my schedule. This was my 3rd year in a row.

  • Comments: I really love this race! The swim is great, the bike is fast and the run is mostly flat. I know no one can predict the weather, but I hope it's better next year so I can have a better race!

  • Comments: One of the best races I have ever done. Team Magic puts on a great race and I will certainly be back to do this one again. A HUGE Thank You to all the NAMCers that came out to support us and ring some cowbell. Also thanks to the Corns for their pre race hospitality.

  • Comments: This was a great race. It was very organized and the volunteers were awesome. Plus, there is a lot of fun stuff to do in Chattanooga. Next time, I would bring the kids (plus a Grammie or two) and go to the aquarium and the kids' museum and stuff like that, plus the brew pub.

  • Comments: Finish Time: 3:57:35. Compared to 3:47:59 on the flat St. A's course. I didn't think I would beat this time, so I guess I'm happy that it's somewhat close. My swim really helped! My run time was abysmal, so this is definitely where I want to focus some energy. If I can pick up my run pace, I'll feel much more confident. I'm happy with my bike and swim progress so far, so I'll keep working on those as well. It was a fun race, despite the weather. I may have done a little better if it was just overcast, because the crazy rain took my energy away from fueling properly on the bike. I was also just kind feeling like Debbie Downer because of the weather. But now I have some great experience and know what it's like to race and ride in the rain next to big crazy semi trucks barreling down the highway. Rawr!!!

  • Comments: Team Magic does a great job with this race. Usually it's the heat and humidity that make this race very challenging but this year, it was the rain. I absolutely love the bike course. Next year I hope to be able to come back and attack the bike course from start to finish and prove I can hang with some of the age group leaders.

  • Comments: I thought this was a good course for the race. It was a bit odd going onto a major highway, but that kept the hills to a respectable grade for the bike. While I struggled on the run, it was a nice course. Everything started on time and was well run. This was my first Olympic distance race and only my 2nd tri of any kind.

  • Comments: This was my favorite triathlon that I've done and will do it again. Though, next time I will get in some training before doing it. This will probably be my last triathlon until 2010 or 2011 (I'll definitely race in 2011). Looking at the next year I won't have any time to get in good bike training and the weekends that have triathlons I could make the rest of this year are already full with other activities. I will be doing the Silver Comet Half Mary in October and the ING Full next March. I can run and swim early mornings but biking the dark SUCKS.

  • Comments: Other than Gulf Coast, this is probably the closets you can get to IM atmposhere and not be at an IM. This just might be the best race in the southeast. Everything about this race is A+ quality.

  • Comments: I just love the internet. They’ve already got the results of this morning’s triathlon posted. Bottom line up front is, I finished and am pleased with my performance. The fact that I finished mid-pack in my division is nice too. I placed 16th out of 26 in my division which was Clydesdale Master (fat old guys). There were over a thousand finishers to today’s race! The kids and I drove up Saturday and checked into the Hampton Inn. I realized after I got there that I had forgotten my front wheel at home! (insert string of golf terms here) I Left the kids in the hotel and called Casey who started driving towards Chattanooga while I started driving towards home. We met about ½ way and I got the wheel. I owe her one for this! That night we went to the Imax theater and saw Grand Canyon 3D and then went out for pizza. The hotel was only about 2.5 miles from the race site so I rode my bike to the race site this morning so the kids could sleep late. While we were standing around

  • Comments: This is a fun race that has some good challenge to it. It is really well attended and the post race is great (ok they offered beer). Not only that, this race is full of good karma folks. When I came down the final hill to the finish, I was going full on kenyan style. I lost my glasses out of my tri pocket at some point on the sprint, but didn't notice until about 10 minutes after I finished. I looked around but no real luck. I started to walk the course when a volunteer found me and gave me the glasses I dropped was up the course. She came all the way down, tracked me down and gave them back to me. I hope that she gets an awesome karma prize over the next week. She deserves it! My goal was to qualify for the AG Nationals. I needed top 33% in AG for this race. I got it so I am very happy. Portland, here I come.
