  • Comments: They did an overall excellent job and the race directors really look out for their last runners. The fact that they had basically torn down the post race events other than awards for 70.3 qualifiers sucked. they also had run out of medals before i finished which also sucked, and about 100 of us still havent gotten them as of 7 weeks post race. It was a humbling gratifying and wonderful experience and am so proud to have completed and finished. This wont be my last 70.3 to be sure.

  • Comments: Overall I was very happy. My first 1/2 Ironman, Finished. I had planned on finishing in 6:15 -6:30 hrs. Came in much better than planned. I was really excited about that. The race was very well organized I recommend the first timers seminar as the biggest thing I did and will do in the future reguardless of the race or first timer status. It provided a lot of insight into the course by the presenter (sorry I don't remember your name) but he was very knowlegable in Triathlon and this course specifically.

  • Comments: Great race. Claimed numbers for the weekend were 4000 athletes total, with 2700 for the 70.3. Results show just under 2200 starters. It was packed. Good race overall. My goal was to have a great swim but that failed.

  • Comments: I will definitely be back next year properly trained to see what I can really do on this course. I didn't get to enjoy any of the post race activities at all since I felt like crap. The volunteers were great for the most part, and the on course support was great. I had fun despite my poor performance and look forward to next year!

  • Comments: My only complaint was the post race. We paid $275 and got a weak goodie bag and one (thats 1, uno, un) can of beer? 2700 plus people at $275 a piece? I know these arent cheap to run, but do the math and indulge what would have been only another beer. But the fact that I could have had more would have been appreciated given the entry fee. Other than that (which is supposed to sound like a mild complaint), I loved the race and the official feel to the whole atmosphere. Chrissie Wellington is awesome to have stayed around. If more pros would be as enthusiastic as she is, this sport would rocket. Thanks Timberman!

  • Comments: Amazing race, fantastic local support, superb aid stations and really well organized. NH is a beautiful location to race I will definitely do this again. Meeting the BT folks and sharing their experiences this year on the forum was awesome. One slight negative; I think I was very lucky leaving early as I was only in line for about 10 mins to get back to Gunstock. I heard the line was over an hour later on.

  • Comments: Everything I read said that this is considered to be one of the best and it truly was quite the experience. Laconia, Weir's Beach, Winnipausawkee are awesome places I would love to come back to visit with the family.

  • Comments: The Timberman 1/2 Ironman has been on my radar for a long time. After seeing the photos in Triathlete Magazine and on-line, this was an event I really wanted to do. After having done it, I can honestly say that it was everything I expected. It is a great event and I am glad I took the leap to head east and have the fantastic experience that I did. Part of the enjoyment of the Timberman journey is certainly attributed to my fellow BT'ers who I've interacted with along the way. Thanks for sharing this with me!

  • Comments: The medical tent was not prepared to treat my wounds. They did not clean them at all. They also said they had no Tylenol for pain. Some friends were given Sprint medals for the 70.3, and told they were 700 medals short. That is inexcusable..not only coming up short on the medals, but trying to foist a Sprint Tri medal on them hoping they would not notice. A shirt, a swag and a box of cereal at number pickup? Not much for our $275.

  • Comments: I can't possibly say enough about this event. It's a 70.3 Ironman race now but it still feels like EndorFun and Keith and his crew put on a fantastic race. From the expo to the registration to the course itself, the hundreds of volunteers and the amazing pro field, this is without a doubt the best race I've ever been a part of. One gripe: the shuttles back to Gunstock are an absolute disaster, it's just a nightmare. Thankfully I didn't have to deal with that as my father gave me a lift after the race, but seeing how long that line was, people with bikes and gear, with small children, and with rain pouring down, I felt awful. they have to figure something out because it's the last thing that people remeber about the race and it's a HUGE drawback, standing in line for an hour just to get back to your car. Other than that, this is an amazing race. They have volunteers that just stand on the big climbs and cheer and go nuts the entire way up, that's what they're there for...everything

  • Comments: Because this was my first 70.3, it was special, but the race was very organized and the volunteers on the bike course and run were fantastic. I had everything I needed to do well.

  • Comments: I think this is a great race. I think people starting in later waves miss out on the post race stuff (unless they finish in under 6hrs) because everything is basically picked up. That would be a downside I would say. Otherwise, great race, I would do this one again.

  • Comments: Love this race, but don't think I need to do it again. I think smaller Half Ironman races where there are Athena distinctions would be more fun. Besides, how many times can I cheer on Andy and Chrissie... they so rocked the Pro's M/F overalls! Wow.
