  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: The destination is great for getting the family to come with you and the volunteers were AWESOME. I am really disappointed in REV 3 though. The expo was not set up for half the day and they were tearing down the finish line immediately after the award ceremonies. So for us slow people that meant no post race. Got the medal, towel and a drink. That was it. Rev 3 did not represent well in this regard.

  • Comments: Rev 3 always does a great job and this was no exception. Its a hard course and the weather made it even tougher. It was a good wake-up call for me as I'm sure IM Boulder won't be any easier on the weather front. More heat training is in my future! I'm also going to work on doing a better job of sun screen application!

  • Comments: Holy fright, this is a hard race to get accommodations. I had reservations at a nice little resort, but then add two kids traveling with me so now need to stay much closer so the kids aren't stranded at the resort while I am racing - ok, not kids, teens, but 14 so still, not old enough to drive - and the price skyrockets while the accommodations are a bit dodgy. $273 a night should at least have internet and toothpaste not adorning the walls, but I do understand, this is when they make their money I really want to give Rev3 a thumbs up as an IM alternative, but I have now done 3 Rev3 halves. Two of the three were down right scary with their bike course. I have never feared for my safety in other races. rev3 bike courses are frightening in how poorly they are set up - i.e. water stop at the bottom of a steep grade hill right before a turn, sand and debris not cleared off the route, pot holes in the steep down hills not marked, very bad traffic control with the traffic control
