  • Comments: Despite my disappointing result for my first HIM, I had a great time. The event is very well organized, with the previous RD bringing vast experience to WTC's first time running this event. It's a great course, awesome volunteers, and I gained a vast amount of learning from participating. I will be back.

  • Comments: Tons and tons of volunteers. Ice, water, sports drink was plentiful. Really the best aid stations/volunteers that I have seen yet at a tri.

  • Comments: First time I did a "Ironman 70.3" race. It was well organized and right on time. The volunteers were "GREAT". They had almost 1 volunteer per racer. They did a great job both on the bike and on the run. Loved the course overall. I will be back someday. The only thing I would like to see is that the start time is moved to earlier in the day. It would have been nice to start my run at 11:00 vs 12:30.

  • Comments: The volunteers were awesome! So helpful, supportive, and motivating! This was a great race, glad I was able to do it as my first half ironman. WTC did an amazing job putting on this event in such a small Midwestern town.

  • Comments: The day was what it was. It was hot to say the least. I have no regrets. I did the best I could in my training- hitting probably 97% of my workouts perfectly. My nutrition was good up to the race and during the race. I feel like I left everything out on that course and that's all I can ask for. It was so nice for me personally to have so many on the course that I personally know and can call a friend. I had my Tri Tippecanoe clubmates, my Team T3 teammates, my family and friends waiting for me at the finish line, and my dear hubby was out there suffering on the course too. All of that gave me motivation and comfort. Joseph was a guy that I met out on the course. He was an older gentleman with a big knee brace on, just walking as fast as he could.. He said something really motivational to me.. "Sometimes you have to push your body to limits that even YOU didn't know you have to really know what you're made of. And today, I'm digging real deep." Thanks Joseph for those words, I think those

  • Comments: Considering my training volume, I am more than pleased with my results. I hovered around 7-8 hrs a week of training which is pretty minimal for this distance. Now, I'm going to relax and enjoy the rest of my summer and the rest of my tri season.

  • Comments: Muncie 70.3 July 9, 2011 Swim – 35.16 T1 – 3:13 Bike – 2:33:28 T2 – 2:30 Run – 1:52:25 5:06:49 Place – 8/84 age division Race Report Friday – pre-race. Met up with David and Dan at athlete registration. It was wonderful hanging with them. I also met up with a few other BTers and friends from Cincy. I was tired, so I had a quiet night in the hotel after leaving the athlete village. I was up early (3:30AM). Packed up the car and ate my normal pre-race breakfast of orange juice and a bagel with PB & honey. It is about a 20-030 minute drive from the hotels to the race site. There were more participants in the race this year with it now being an “ironman” race. Muncie has always been a well organized race with lots of volunteers. Although the race has lost some of the “small town feel,” ironman did a great job with organization and volunteers. There were lots of friends racing. It was fun racing with so many great people. I set

  • Comments: My goal for this race was to find a balance of pacing, nutrition and racing in preperation for IMWI in September. I didn't feel I could keep the same swim pace for a second loop (more OW time should prove helpful), the bike isn't like WI which is hilly, so no good comparison there. The run though was very successful in that my 3 parameters were met. It helped that my legs felt fresh going into the run from lack of large hills. Nausea has been an issue with my long course races and in this race I found hydration, nutrition, and temperature control to be key. I've only had a couple of minor setbacks this year and overall feel very good about my conditioning.

  • Comments: It was a nice day and the volunteers were awesome. There is no doubt I can break 5hrs on this course, but today I just did not have it and once again learn some hard knock leasons. The day was electric and Ironman put a big time feel on the race.

  • Comments: This being my first Ironman brand event - they do a great job. This being my first HIM - great to hear the stories of pople and their journey to this point. There are some very inspiring people out there on this journy to IM with me/us! Volunteers are awesome! Made sure I gave a thumbs up or a thank you whenever I could - especially at the last or second to last stop with the garden hose spray! Now onto IMKY - Got a 6 mile run in this morning and will be back on track without missing a beat. I did see some of the BT folks out there and I am sorry that I didnt introduce myself - but my biggest and only on this day supporter - my wife - was a trooper and a half and I wanted to be with her and we enjoyed hanging out together 2 days after our 10 year anniversary! She has made just as big of a committment to IM as I have due to my absence from the house the past 6 months and has done wonderful with our daughter skylar. I appreciate everything she does! And as you can see below

  • Comments: Great course, very well organized, fantastic volunteers (1400 volunteers for 1600 athletes!), patient and supportive locals. The aid stations on the run were the best I have ever seen, and the volunteers at mile 15 on the bike (who we went past 3 times) were especially awesome. I'm sorry I didn't get to do this race as the Endurathon, and I hope the Endurathon regulars were satisfied with how WTC managed the event.

  • Comments: This event was amazing. Very, very well run. The volunteers were wonderful!! Especially the ones on the run course. It was a hard, hot run and they were there with ice, sponges, water, coke, they would spray you down with water. I would NOT have made it throug without them. They rocked!!
