  • Comments: As this was my first race, I have nothing to compare it too. But even lt night, post-race, when I couldn't walk on my ankle and was so tired, I was looking forward to the next one and planning my upcoming training. I can see how this can become an obsession.

  • Comments: I'm a little surprised that this was such a popular race. Touted as the 2nd largest tri in Minnesota. Sponsored by Gatorade. Only the Lifetime Fitness tri is more popular. 1200 registered for either the Sprint or the Olympic. My first tri this year was in Albert Lea, which was better for the fist timer as they were very helful with pre-race pointers and much more sociable. I experienced a not so nice gentleman at the Buffalo tri, believe he was the go-to guy for volunteers, who thought it wise to make a newbie feel like a newbie. A real ass.

  • Comments: This was my first triathlon, my goal was to complete the course and gain some experience, from that perspective I was very happy. The race was well organised and the volunteers were terrific. I didn't drown, fall, or crash my bike, so even though I was 10th from the bottom I consider that a great accomplishment. Can't wait to sign up next year!

  • Comments: The talk was too long. I wish they would seperate the sprint and oly a bit more. Lots of traffic.

  • Comments: I am very happy with this race! I improved my time from last year by over 4 minutes, and it was a PR for this course by 3 minutes. I was also right at the top third for my age group, which is better than my normal right smack in the middle. And of course, the pleasant surprise of the good run was an added bonus. This race is super well organized, and it's a lot of fun. The give aways are nice (although we didn't win any), as is the swag bag. I'm not super crazy about the color of the tshirt this year (yellow), but that's a very minor issue. Highly recommend this race! Update, for those interested: Yes, my husband, using the No Training plan, did beat me, as I expected (by 3 minutes). %*($%@&$# He clearly does not understand that the way to ensure a pleasant ride home does NOT involve him beating me AGAIN; especially when he didn't even train. Grumble.

  • Comments: This was a very well organized event. There were many volunteers and it really had a small town feel. I was hoping that I could finish in under 1 hour 30 minutes, and I met my personal goal. Can't wait to do it next year (hopefully with a wetsuit). Sorry I didn't get to introduce myself to any BT'ers. See you at the Minneman.

  • Comments: For a race as large as it is (2nd largest in the MN) it had that small race feel. I really enjoyed it and will certianly have it on the list for next year!

  • Comments: Huge event, very well run. Didn't stay for the post-race festivities, but it looked like there was plenty. Lots of volunteers. Only dig at all is the t-area could have been a little bigger, but not sure how they would have done that. Great event.
