  • Comments: I think this is my only sprint this year as I am training for HIM and Olympic. It was a good workout for me and good practice in cold and wet conditions. I intend to do the race again next year and hopefully see some improvement.

  • Comments: So I took 2nd place in Clydes this year. As I was walking up to get my hardward, the Uecker section started yelling "step on a scale, step on a scale" Though it was quite humurous. The first place guy was smaller than me and got the same remarks. I did step on the scale when I got home - 202.5 lbs thank you very much.

  • Comments: Mixed feelings on race result... Like most, probably tend to be overly critical of race performance... and play the "what ifs"... always focused on where i screwed up... or where i could improve... i pretty much nailed or exceeded my goals on each leg of the race... sets PRs on both the bike and the run... however, to then screw it up in the transitions is pretty disappointing... Can't really blame it on the weather - as we all raced in the same conditions... Guess I'll chalk it up to inexperience (being my third 'real' triathlon, and first dealing with the cold and rain)... I feel like I should be happier with the results and improvements over last year, but those darn transitions overshadow them a bit at the moment... Great seeing everyone out there... and meeting some new folks as well... Anyway... feeling better today than yesterday about the results... now back to training...!!!

  • Comments: This has been something I have wanted to do since I was in college (10+ years ago). For whatever reason, I decided this was the time and I am so glad I did. As slow as my time may seem, I was actually just elated that I had completed it and actually got through it smoothly. I think this is something I would like to continue, so we will see where it goes in the future!

  • Comments: Great event. They really do a good job. Nice lake, nice shirt, nice breakfast burritio, orange, banana combo and good fluids after the race (Diet Dew - have never seen that before). It would be nice if they kept the transition area locked down better. Too many people in that area, including non-athletes. Should make the finish line right on the beach before the sand, in the grassy area. Put up a fence/stands whatever.

  • Comments: Ok the run wasn't the only bright spot. Seeing all my Donkey friends (both participants and Jockstrappers) makes getting out of bed worthwhile. Kind of summing up the day: I pulled out of the parking lot with my wetsuit and water bottle on the roof of my car. Thankfully someone flagged me down, before I got too far.

  • Comments: Great race and will more than likely do it again next year. Placing 3rd in the AG was great. Really big confidence booster with all the training ive put in and the progress ive made from last year. After this makes me feel better because SOR was starting to play tricks in my mind with the miles on bike and run.

  • Comments: not a bad race for me considering the quad issue and that i signed up on thursday evening. also because of those things, i went in without any preconcieved notions on how i would do, just to go out and test the quad kinda thing. was superduper coolio to see so many donkai in attendance (scooby, jmwebs, donkeywolf, lunatick, fishlips, judyjetson, craimyjo, wavedog, schmizey (two hearts pal, two hearts!), talltridad, bunnyT, casserole, jenndoc, vanillwafer, waferspouse, deanna, tacobellgrande, donnawiz, lord helmet...man, im sure im forgetting someone, im sorry if i am, there be just so many of us now!!!!) the DTFU'd award goes to...........man, so many to chose from on a day like that. anyone who participated gets a nod due to the conditions......but lets see, theres casserole competing with a hole in his tummy, nashers hyperventitation techniques in the water but gittin' it done........man...prime candidates there....i think i am going with ...... all the ones that came out and

  • Comments: Second time doing this tri. I really enjoyed it again. It is a great way to kick off the season. The swim is short, the run is flat so you can get yourself used to racing again. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

  • Comments: Really a disappointing effort from this Donkey. I tried to get ahold of Scoob's excuse generator, but he must've been using it.

  • Comments: As always, it was a great race for hanging with fellow Donks and just shaking the legs out. My swim and transitions were terrible, but it ain't no thang. It just didn't matter that much to me. But that run is one I won't forget for a long, long time.

  • Comments: In spite of going slower than I'd like, I had a blast. This is a fun little race. Nice lake, decent bike course, great run course (for those of us who like straight and flat!). I think the new bike course is a bit hillier than the old one, and it was .8 miles longer too. No killer hills, but I remember it as being almost pancake flat and it now has a couple small rollers that had be in the 23 in back. Never had to get out of the big ring though. TONS of BT'ers there. Just a blast to see everyone! Sorry I missed some of you!

  • Comments: All in all I beat all my goals except 1:45 due to transitions. I felt "slow" however. Again I'm probably too reserved in these things. My disappointment with the race only lies in the fact that I misjudged how well the other novices would do and felt my division and overall placement were really low. However, it was awesome. Seeing everyone on a race day was great. Being able to say hi as I was passed, for now ;), was cool as well. I'm pretty happy with the day as a whole. Now who wants to buy me a Kestral and Endurance house for $4k? :-P
