  • Comments: Even though I had the stomach issue on the run, I ABSOLUTELY love this race and I will come back every year I am racing. The race director is great, the volunteers are great, the lake is great, run is flat. I just think once the oly bike course goes back to it's usual route, I will love it that much more. It is now Tuesday at around 10 after 1 Chicago time that I am finally finishing this, and I just want to give another shout out to all the BT'ers for being so supportive of me yesterday when I was still really beating myself up about this race...I don't care what teams are out there, or other website like this there are, I've seen it so many times, and now with me yesterday, we really support each other, in good times and bad, and that is really special. My mom would be so proud of you all for helping me lift my spirits yesterday...so thank you!! Cheers! :) GENDER PLACE: 200/246

  • Comments: Once again, I really enjoyed this race. I find this distance a perfect challenge between pace and speed. It was great to see all the overall effort and PR's from all my new friends. EEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWSome job everyone. The venue is pretty good also. The swim and run are great - the bike left a little to be desired because of the 2 loop deal but I understand that was only becasue of road construction this year. I will definitely be back next year.

  • Comments: Relatively good race. Will probably do it again. Need bike marshals out on the course. There were NONE, and LOTs of violations going on. I would also like it if they used the velcro timing chips instead of the bands...my ankles are thick and they don't fit well. I broke the first one I had... Many thanks to my Donkey brothers and sisters who hung out til I was done. It really means more then I can say...and I hope I don't sound too grumpy when I tell you not to talk to me til I'm done. Thanks to others who couldn't stay but cheered me on when they saw me...

  • Comments: I like this race. Yes, it's expensive and you don't get much in the way of post-race stuff, but the venue is great (the bike even better when it's laid out the way it's supposed to be, but that's not their fault) and everything is pretty well organized. And I actually liked the fleece they gave out... and because my office is so cold, it'll get some immediate use. :)

  • Comments: A great race. The ONLY complaint I have is the lack of port-o-potties. I know the port-o-pottie line is part of race morning but this was rediculous. The line was insane. It was definately a cause for some grumbling in the morning. Other than that the race was fantastic. I'm sure I'll do it again.

  • Comments: This year's event marked the one-year point in my triathlon career. Came back and showed improvement. We'll see what the next year brings.

  • Comments: Good race. Large field with some great talent. They really but on a great show and have a great gift bag, too. Some people weren't big fans of the fleece, but Holly loves it (yes, she got mine). They are weak, however, on the post race food. Very weak.

  • Comments: This is a fun race. It's a fast course, and has some pretty stiff competition. Decently sized race, but a bit crowded on the bike this year, since the Oly distance had to share the Sprint course. A few minor things that I'd like if they did better/differently. Less schwag ( I really don't need *another* cheap fleece or transition bag ). Assign racks by AG/wave. There is an advantage to certain racks in transition, based on where the bike in/run out is located. Better stickers. Cheap little paper stickers come off when you're pouring sweat onto the bike. Real bike numbers would be nice, if you're going to enforce the bike number matching race number/body mark. I fully support that, but make sure that you use bike stickers that don't come off. I was stuck with several people in the same boat, as the RD wanted us all to wait until every other bike was out of transition before we could leave. That would have been 3 hours standing in the sun! I finally took my helmet sticker

  • Comments: Great race as always. PP knows what they are doing. The field is always stacked for this race which makes it a lot of fun. I was a little out of sorts because Jen wasn't there. I saw a chick between around mile 5 right around the time I probably would have seen Jen who was wearing a top that Jen typically wears. That bummed me out a little bit. I missed having her there post race (but she's still a Rock Star and an awesome tri chick so don't let her absence fool you). I have to be pleased with my performance regardless of the nit picking...my previous Olympic distance PR was 2:30 (and that was like three weeks ago) and the last time I did PP (2006) my time was 2:39. Sure 2:21:58 is no Schmize (2:09!) but I'll take it.

  • Comments: Nice venue. Shuttle busses are a pain but I don't know what else they could possibly do about it. Post-race food was average.

  • Comments: Good times. I'd recommend the race to anybody. Oh and I owe Crowny and his wife BIG TIME for coming to the train station to get my ass when the train conductor was going to call secuirty and have me escorted out. Apparently they don't like it when people try to bribe them. So they weren't allowing bikes since it was air and water show weekend. So I tried to slip the dude a $20 to let me take on my bike. It didn't work like it does in the movies. He must not be from Chicago. THANKS CROWNY!!! YOU'RE MY HEEEE-RO!

  • Comments: The post race nutrition was kind of limited. The hardware sucked. Though overall it was a good race. I can't help but to compare this race to my only other OLY I have done which is Chicago and PP doesn't hold up very well.
