  • Comments: I am not sure what I rated this race last year...but HFP had a lot of issues this year that I have already expressed my frustration over that I am not going to get into again here. The comment I made about the friend and the fact that I don't want to be with her during anymore races...turns out, we just don't really mesh well together. I was SOOOO looking forward to the pasta dinner...seeing David and his wife, Peggy, meeting Aidana, RaytownPete, and all the other fellow BT'ers, just hanging and talking and she was rushing to get back to the hotel to go to bed. It was 7:00! I realize as athletes, we all have our schedules, but I wish she would have clued me in on that. Then she made several snide comments in the morning, and just generally got under my skin...and so that's why. Still managed to have fun, thanks to MarkK and CindyK for organizing that pasta dinner...I chowed! And I really enjoyed my conversation with MarkK in regards to the future of Wisconsin's golden child,

  • Comments: There is some general disorganization I've seen with HFP both times I've done this race. I think they need to work on the timing issues, and do a bit better of a job at compiling results to make sure the right people get the right awards. I know that there was an Athena who finished behind me, but they only have 3 of us listed, with me as 3rd (I believe the 1st place Athena actually placed in the top 3 women overall...so it would have bumped down.) I think I will do the sprint again next year...

  • Comments: This was a great race for a first - timer - Lots of support, and being smaller and all women, was not very intimidating. I was really worried about the swim segment, but other than being freakishly cold, it was not bad. I actually feel like I could do this again!

  • Comments: Things seemed to be a bit less organized this time. From a last minute venue change for the expo, a hectic expo, not knowing when the waves were going of, misprints in the packet information (bike cutoff 1 hour from the beginning of the start of the waves) and then not a course official anywhere on the bike, not one. Which was disappointing. Food was better this year, or at least I finished early enough to get some (they were running low last year). Not entirely certain I will come back next year. I might just to break that AG placement.

  • Comments: Wish I could see T times and bike split What I learned from the race: I’m thrilled with the results, but I didn’t feel like I did as well as could have and will pass along my short comings in hopes others don’t fall into the same trap. Starting in sequential order: Pre Race In an effort to not get all of my stuff together too soon I left too much to the night before. Issues I had: -no race belt to be found, I’ve seen it around the house, car, bag, etc., but it was never found. -race day outfit-you got to look good/feel good to be fast-I opted for a expo and late night run to find something I felt ok in , but not great. -due to race belt fiasco, I went to bed around 10:45 and then got up at 5:00 and had to make my own belt, I was tired and the belt was bothersome during the race. Race Day With all the planning I do I still had no idea race morning, when I was leaving, how I was getting there, etc. and did not get the right amount of food and beverage in me. Swim:

  • Comments: HFP puts on good races. Loved the PBJ and Oreos at the finish! Loved my 5th/93 overall women place more than my 1st age group!

  • Comments: There should have been more road volunteers - white bread PBand Js are not the best either after a race for me.
