  • Organised?
  • Events on time?

  • Lots of volunteers to help?
  • Plenty of drink stations?

  • Post race activities?
  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: I've done a few 70.3s and not a lot I'd repeat, but this one I would (as long as I get up early), the course is beautiful and just challenging enough, volunteers fantastic, and the city of Chattanooga is just a blast (I likened it to Portland without the hipsters and meth heads). We got super lucky with the weather and I imagine this would be a LOT more painful in typical Chattanooga weather. Post race meals included Urban Stack for burger and fries race afternoon, and a stop at Ben & Jerry's (and why can't I run a 1:45 again???). Monday morning breakfast at Aretha Frankenstein's on Tremont. Very.. interesting. Tiny place, good food.

  • Comments: IM does a great job with most parts of the race. Only complaint has always been the post race food. Cold pizza and pretzels. This was my first race racing with my new team, TriCoachGeorgia. Many team mates doing the race which was a lot of fun having them around all weekend. Good getting to know them in person as we had only interacted on line for me since I am not local to the team. It was a great pick up to see team mates on the course and the non racing members on the side cheering! I did miss having Connie with me and look forward to having her along with my good friends Dud and Y along when we go back to do the full. Dud will like the course I think (as much as you can like any course 140 miles lone).

  • Comments: I love this race. Ironman knows what they are doing and everything was very well organized. The course is beautiful as is downtown Chattanooga. I plan to make this my full Ironman race for next year.
