  • Organised?Yes
  • Events on time?Yes

  • Lots of volunteers to help?Yes
  • Plenty of drink stations?Yes

  • Post race activities? Below average
  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: I don't think I'll do this race again. Not because of the heat, but the course kind of bugs me. I don't like the long run to T1, and obviously have issues with the run course. I do really like the bike course and will use it to train on in the future. It's not a bad race, just not the one for me.

  • Comments: The race itself is average, the course is pretty dull and monotonous. There were plenty of volunteers and good police support, and the registration and packet pickup went well. There was no shortage of drinks and gels on the course. I met all of my goals, meaning I finished the race, broke 6:00:00, and turned in a 20mph bike ride. So that is a pretty good day, and not a bad way to finish up the 2007 triathlon season. I set a PR in all 3 triathlons I raced this year - Columbia Triathlon in May (Oly), Tri-to-Win Sprint in June (sprint), and Delaware Diamondman 1/2 Ironman.

  • Comments: This was a 2 minute Half IM PR for me... Last September I finished Lake Anna in 5:39. This was my last tri for this season and I am happy to finish it on a good note.

  • Comments: The food was not the best, cut up hoagies and bags of chips. That's it. No massages, but lots of people being tended to by paramedics. Lots of people collapsed, I heard, and I saw 2 people getting IV drips when I came in. I actually expected more from Piranha Sports but hey, I got a finishers medal and trophy so I'm done complaining. It was a long day, but man, it was so worth it. I did a Half-Ironman!!!

  • Comments: For my brother's sake, the support for the late finishers was not there, running out of Gel packs and no massages for the later finishers in not good. These are the finishers who I believe need the most support. Race managers should be supporting the race fully, to the last particpant as long as they meet the cutoff times. For the sprint good support, however with the heat, the HIM support needs improvement.
