  • Comments: This was my first time doing MCM and I'm definitely glad I did it. The course was interesting and always had a ton of spectators and fans cheering. It also was crowded the entire time. I like racing with a lot of people, but it was a tad extreme. Overall, a good training run for Vegas, knocked out another state and had an 11 minute PR!

  • Comments: Jacqui and I left on Monday morning at 5am. We were trying to beat Sandy up the coast. There were very few cars on the road. The rain got worse the farther north we got. We stopped at the last rest stop in Maryland before the Delaware state line where a State Trooper told us we had to get off the road!! We went to a Comfort Inn for the night. We were able to leave at 9am on Tuesday! It was quite an adventure!!

  • Comments: This was a well organized event, with great scenery, a lot of volunteers, and a nice shirt. One thing we noticed was there was no pile of flyers for races, discount coupons for some place I'll never go, etc.

  • Comments: The post race stuff was so far away it was crazy. I understand 30k runners and you have to get people away from the start line. But a mile walk after a 26 mile run is not something you look forward to.

  • Comments: This has been a 'bucket list' race for me for a while, and lived up to its billing! Outstanding support from start to finish by U.S. Marines, plus tons of other volunteers and crowds from the area. Well supported with foods and fluids, great course (not too difficult, good crowd control, polite runners) and a great location. I highly recommend this race to anyone with any interest at all in running it.

  • Comments: Awesome crowd support and the course really is a nice course through the DC area. Once the soreness and pain subsides I will think about running it again. If you haven't ran this race I think you should.

  • Comments: MCM is a really nice marathon. Relatively low price for such a big event ($85), and outstanding organization by the marines. The course has one or two bleak patches, but overall is a really good tour of the DC sights. I think the race is probably even more fun for folks running MOP times, as the atmosphere in the pack seemed to be fantastic.

  • Comments: Sore quads, calves and mostly my left hip, but basically I had an excellent race! I never regretted not bringing my ipod, there was never a dull moment, really. Now less than a week out from the marathon, and my knee has not felt this solid and good in ages. I plan to start running tomorrow, on the 1 week anniversary of my very first marathon.
