  • Comments: This was an average race. It was a 'C' race for me, so it basically becomes a long training run that I run harder than normal. I didn't really push myself too much, but that doesn't mean I wasn't tired the last 3 miles. Being a little dehydrated didn't help.

  • Comments: Overall the race was run exceptionally... Two minor things that would have been helpful to runners. 1. It was difficult to guage pace in the half-marathon. The large mile marker signs at each mile were great. But once the full marathon course joined back to the half-marathon course it got hard to calculate mileage and times without having to think about it. The suggestion would be to have signage listing each race distance. 2. The CliffShot station along the course was awesome. The problem was gels are normally taken with water. From picking up the gel until the next water station I ran approx 2 miles. Please take these comments constructively. I thought the race was very well organized overall and it was a very enjoyable experience. Definitely plan to return.

  • Comments: I delayed posting my report because my results weren't posted at the ING site. According to the ING site I did not start and DNF'd but have a 10k split. Fortunately, I signed up for the "Runner Tracking" feature and had results emailed and text to my phone. I emailed the race director and attached the results email but no response so far. I still don't understand how they can email/text my results, but show me as DNF on the site. I know I stepped on all the timing mats, even during the mini out-and-back on 14th. Despite the logistics being bad, I did have fun. But it will be a very disappointing first 1/2 mary if my time is not "official." The only thing that would have made this funner would have been meeting more BT-ers. But GCT is around the corner along with the rest of the season.

  • Comments: I didn't like that there wasn't race corrals. It felt very disorganized just standing around not sure if we were in the right spot for the start. That kind of irked me. Also, the 5k chip mat was not in the right spot and the mile markers only said the marathon distances after a while and since they ran a partially different course it was very confusing for the half- marathoners. Every aid station I went to, only had water. I had 2 gels with me so I got some electolytes and sodium from that thank goodness. I heard some marathoners say they got poweraide, so I don't know if they ran out when I got to them or what but I don't think any one in our group every got poweraide. I was very impressed with the food post race. They had cookies, fresh fruit, muffins, gogurt, water, and pretzels. There was tons of sponsors handing stuff out at the expo and on the course also.(free souveniers for the kids). I loved the shirt we got and the medal was really cool too. I also thought it was cool

  • Comments: I really liked the course - except that there were very few mile markers. I saw mile 1, mile 4, and then 1 mile to go - that's IT! I think they decided the marathon markers would be enough, but from other races I have done, I didn't know if they lined up. It was very frustrating not to have the course well marked - I was surprised, since this is not a new race organization. I think if they can fix this one thing next year, it will be a great race. The spectators were fabulous - I was extremely impressed by the number of people out cheering - especially for a 1st year race in Atlanta!

  • Comments: I rated this a 4 because it was cool racing with so many people and being part of a major event. They need more volunteers and more water. They didn't even have mile markers for the1/2M!

  • Comments: I had to wait in line for 45 minutes on Saturday to get my race number. The Atlanta HM on Thanksgiving had half as many people, but there were only 2 in front of me in line to get my number -- the ING folks should take a lesson from the Atlanta Track Club on how to get the race numbers handed out. There were also lots of other issues with the inaugural race -- too few porta-potties at the start, too crowded at the start, splits and mileage markers not provided on the course. But the munchies at the end were good, and the heat sheets were nice (and probably would have been needed on a typical March day). The shirts are good quality, but the design is a little bland. Unless some of the bad aspects of the race are worked out (race number line, crowding, no splits), I don't think I'll do it again.

  • Comments: Overall, I thought it was a great race! The expo was nice, technical shirts were great, course was pretty good, post-race refreshments better than most races. A few things I would suggest to them: somehow organize the start better. It was hard to tell where to go. Mark the half marathon miles more clearly and either have people calling splits or put up a clock.

  • Comments: Great first time event- it lived up to the hype. Volunteers were awesome and the spectators were great- very positive experience. I bested my last half by 6+ minutes on a tougher course and blasted my sub 2:00 goal. My only complaint is I could not get a beer afterwards :). (georgia cannot serve until noon on sundays)

  • Comments: Great race given that it was the first one (even then I don't know what they could have done to make it even better). Only things missing or issues that I saw were: - No Gatorade at the end - Gel stations after water stations (should be the other way around - next time I'll bring my own)

  • Comments: Gorgeous course through downtown Atlanta. Weather was excellent, and had a great group of people to run with. Time chips integrated with internet database allowing outsiders to track runners.
