Matt and I had ordered a new Ford Raptor truck back in March just before Covid-19 shut everything down. It was finally built and at the dealer for us to pick up today. We traded in Matt's 16 year old Ford Expedition and brought home the new truck. Fancy and fast!!! Since Matt drives a work truck to work every day and I work from home, neither one of us put on many miles on either of our cars.

I managed to somehow hurt my achilles. On a rest day. I noticed it first as I was squatting down to play with the dogs. Iced it last night and was able to do some gentle yoga. Icing it this morning also. Maybe bike trainer this afternoon - way too hot to think about going outside now that it’s already 8am!

We've spent the last 2 months trying to decide what house project would be best right now.  Originally we were going to turn the laundry room into a bathroom for my piano students to use next to the studio, but scrapped that idea.  Ran into some very expensive plumbing issues and I wasn't sold on the idea of putting the washer/drying in the garage.
Next idea was upgrade to a gas tankless water heater and put a sink in the laundry room where the electric water heater currently is.  That's still a possibility.  But since I'm not teaching in person for a while (realistically for the entire school year), I think we've decided to scrap all of those ideas and soundproof the drum room, lol.  The boys are turning it into a professional recording studio -- with all of the fancy equipment, and we are going soundproof it for them.  And I think Todd has talked me into gifting the boys studio theater curtains as well (super pricey $$), which would take up our water[...]

Finally i am seeing a big groundswell of media that is concerned with getting kids back to school. It's not that i don't believe in precautions, it's that the plans were so loosey-goosey and not realistic as they came out. Our covid rates are steadily declining - all this week we were just over 100 new cases for the whole province with one higher number where there was specific testing of migrant farm workers.
I nearly cried reading that our school trustee was spear-heading actually doing more! After getting super frustrating responses from my MPP (which is to be expected since she is opposition)  and city councillor - and all the shaming for asking for child care because i might be risking my kids ... but when will ever be low enough?
Anyway, glad to see the discussion really starting. i know our school is in a good place - other than the student/teacher ratios. We are a small neighbourhood school with no transportation. All the kids live within 1km of the schoo[...]

@COTTAGE
Last full day - we'll head back after dinner.  M's surgery - for which we'd been waiting over a year for and which had been scheduled for March but then canceled because of COVID - has been rescheduled for Thursday which means we both need to have COVID tests tomorrow morning.  Otherwise I would have stayed until Monday morning.
My mother is still here and continues to annoy but I've just given up.  Headed out in a canoe with M yesterday which was lovely.  Spent 45 minutes paddling against the wind and waves and then practically drifted back in 15 minutes with little effort.  I guess that counts as my upper body workout for the week!  Fortunately work also calmed down and I am more relaxed on that front.
I read 419 this week.  Not at all what I expected.  I didn't even know what 419 stood for and had picked the novel because it was listed as #1 on the "100 novels that make you proud to be Canadian" list.  SO GOOD!  Gives[...]

Allergies were giving me hell yesterday. I tend to be in denial that I even HAVE allergies, but they have been noticeable this Spring for sure. Finally gave in and took a children's Claritin and oh my gosh, I feel SO MUCH BETTER!! Duh. Ended up having a great ride last night. Legs had some pep for once!
Need to go pick up my full suspension at the shop today. Took it in the other day since my brakes were rubbing, and apparently my pads were down to metal and I had ruined my rotor. OOPS. How did I not notice my pads were low?? I just thought I messed it up when I was messing with my wheel due to the flat tire.
Knocking out a long to-do list this morning. Lots of emails, rental work, etc.
Took Owen down to Denver yesterday to meet up with my dad the computer nerd at Micro Center. He did a research project for school this spring on how to build a computer, and decided he wanted to spend a bunch of money he's been saving to buy the parts to build himself one. The guy there wa[...]

80 Day Obsession AAA Day 11 - pretty good workout. Moved a lot to the medium band. Really took some time with my form on a few moves. The reverse chest fly is still too much in my neck. I need to work on that one - i started with 5lbs and went to 3 on the last set because i wanted to be careful.
Spent some time farting with the band when it rolled.
Also adjusted my upright row and it felt better, just lower on my ribcage than i was doing.
Lots of progress on my pushups - did all 10 on the first set, 7 on the second, and 4 on the last.
