Worked late last night and had a 7:30 meeting this morning  but I am overly caffeinated so it's all good. Going to use that as an excuse to slip out a little early and head to the pool.
In other news, Christina decided to come to the Lady Gaga concert in Las Vegas with me, yay! She also wants to do a beach vacation in June, and because of her MS, she's anxious about traveling alone - she's asked if I wanted to go with her. I could probably do a long weekend in June, since that would be a re-set training time in between my 70.3s.
This is going to sound weird, but I'm mildly concerned about the optics of going on two vacations this year with a co-worker - everyone knows we're good friends, but my concern is that my next career move will likely be to the role of her boss (even if she gets promoted). I just don't want the people making decisions to use that against me; the dynamic of being friends with your boss/direct reports is sticky sometimes.

I spent a lot of time awake in bed last night. I went to bed when Bri did a little before 9pm, so that could be part of it. I've also been making an effort to get back to 2-3 night pumps (10 or 11pm/1am/4am) which also figures in too, but I've felt pretty twitchy, mind-racing overall the last couple days. I got up and dressed to run at 6am, but Bri woke up so it didn't happen, again. As soon as we get something down that works it seems like it changes.

Need to get in short bike and run workout this afternoon. Slept in a little and had a short swim with Matt this morning.

I am going to call the bike shop today and go for the $900 credit and extras. I want to learn how much will I end up needed to pay (if any) to get the Kicker trainer. I really don't want to spend more money. I think I will really like the Kicker trainer. :-)

Have a 3.5 hour work training meeting today - UGH!!!!

Plan was to do an early morning spin class and then hit the books (I have a course assignment due April 1st that I've left until the end and it requires survey responses from 3rd parties eek) but instead I slept right through my alarm and my dog woke me at 7am.  oops!  My work day starts at 7:30am.  Fortunately working from home means I literally just open my laptop while still in bed ha!  But ya... so much for a regular workout routine!
Hmmm so I attempted to order my new headphones online from the US site and have them shipped to my sister to avoid duty charges.  Because the billing and shipping address differed they canceled the order and advised I could buy them off the Cdn site which I didn't know about.  So I did and they are on their way but... my sister received the ones for the canceled offer.  When I reached out to the company they responded with this (great customer service).  The US version came with extra stuff I want so I *could[...]

I've been thinking a lot about my goal of PR'ing the half. I am not sure that's realistic. My pb is 1:50 - which would mean being able to  run around 5:10/km pace. That will take a lot of effort and base mileage. I don't want to get injured or even just worry about getting the time in. I am thinking that the goal could be to PB any distance - maybe 5k - that is something where the speed will be hard but doesn't require as much mileage ...
My PR's are:
Half: 1:50
10k: 48:44
5k: 24:14
All will be challenging at my current fitness but it's not impossible ...

Oof, I am SORE this morning! Apparently my first longer trail ride of the year did me in. I've done some 3 hour efforts in the past couple months, but not on trails because of all the snow. I pushed it up a lot of the hills, and my legs are feeling it. Felt strong throughout my ride though, considering I've been riding mostly on the trainer. Love the new bike - very light and speedy and I'm already addicted to the lockout. Rode over and did a lap through Red Rocks on the road, and it was so nice to just lock out the whole thing - can't do that with my Pivot.
Getting packed today for Spring Break. Need to take the dog down to my mom's house and pick up Nate's bike at the shop. I had them put new tires on and fix a spoke, and Tony called me an hour later totally appalled at the condition of the wheels - apparently they're completely shot. We bought that bike used and I swear, it was ridden so hard that every component on it needs replacing. He just doesn't ride enough to make i[...]

Family drama had me a little crazy yesterday. DIL is feeling slighted because we can't spend as much time with her as she'd like. Yep. Nothing going on here that I can't drop to stroke her ego. I spoke to mom yesterday afternoon and she sounded so good that I couldn't be in a bad mood, so I let the drama go and focused on what's important. :)

Spending most of today at mom's. She has a follow up appointment for the pneumonia and I'll keep her company while s-dad takes the shower doors down so I have an easier time getting her in and out of the shower. Got a good amount of work done here yesterday. We're probably going to work into the first week of April, but we have a short trip planned up to the Cuyahoga National Forest on the 8th and I'd like to leave a day or two early so I can do some hiking and maybe make a quick trip up to the lake. If it isn't out of here by the 5th, it's going on extension. :)

Gah!  Forgot my Apple Watch at home today.  I will need to go home first before doing my short run. Not a huge deal, just mad at myself.  I need to get my steps counted for my StepBet.
I really struggle recovering from weekend trip.  Last night's time to just workout on my own and then do a few things around the house helped a lot.    I feel more myself this morning (4 days after I got home - yikes).  Good/bad news is I planned a long weekend trip to Seattle with a girlfriend in May

Wait, let me check something... yep, my first Zwift Race podium glow is still there  .
11 days at 181 pounds... guessing this is what you call a plateau!!  Still counting every calorie; even on the occasional bad days!!  Obviously I have to go slightly more aggressive with the caloric deficit.  And I know I have plenty of junk calories to cut out, and should replace them with veggies -- which will provide 100% more nutrition and 90% less calories.  I'm working on it!  Little by slow .  Making my first green smoothie shake today and using a recipe KIMMAX/Marcia gave me.
Another Recovery Run today, followed by a medium long but EZ swim.  Then tomorrow will be my 9th time running the Kings Park 15k.  It's a hilly beast!

Last night I answered the question, "if you ride your bike without posting it on Social Media, did you actually ride?" I am here to say that, yes, I did actually ride. I have scratches on my arm from falling into a palmetto bush, so I have proof. Luckily, it wasn't a saw palmetto, so I am only scratched bad, and not terribly.
Planning on Balm on Saturday and Hillsbarry on Sunday with Ann.

I should be logging all of this walking.  I'm actually a little sore from several hours of touristy walking.  We are having a wonderful time on vacation in Florida.  Carson drove my car back home yesterday and Todd and I headed south.  We spent Wednesday at Carrabelle Beach with our kids and a friend of theirs. Yesterday we stayed in Cedar Key and a really nice and private AirBnB.  Today we are headed towards Bok Tower and staying at some fancy lodge in Lake Wales and then Saturday going to see Tony Bennett (Todd's Christmas present) in Orlando.  I am surprisingly having zero anxiety about our kids being home alone.  They are happy and we are too!
