Subject: Women's Tri clothes sizing? Are most true to size?
Hi All!
Been looking into purchasing more tri shorts (the TYR ones I have now chafe REALLY BAD!) and found some good deals online. I don't have the time to go from store to store and try on all the brands so was curious to see if their sizing is pretty true...in my cycling gear I usually wear a M and both tri shorts I own are M as well. Didn't know if some makers run large, small etc...
Also, any FAVORITES that you just can't live without??? I own a pair of Pearl Izumi cycling shorts that I adore but haven't found any tri gear fav's yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

I find most of the clothing to run small - I'm an athena so its really not surprising.   Anyhow, the best gear I have for tri is my LG (Louis Garneau) kit - its 2 pieces, shorts and a race jersey.   No chafe and its a pretty good fit  - the shorts are the bomb.   My fav bike shorts are Pearl Izumi too.   For running I usually wear Champion that I get at Target - I've tried other gear too which is okay but this is always the stuff I come back to plus you can't beat the price.

 Hope this helps.

I'd agree and say that shorts run small. I wear a size 6 or 8 and wear a size L Zoot shorts. I love their shorts, I have 2 pairs. I've never had another brand but I tried a bunch on at a store and they were the ones I liked the best.

I've been liking the DeSoto and Shebeest brands. I have a DeSoto trisuit that I love. I also have a pair of Pearl Izumi tri shorts, which are just okay (got 'em cheap at Performance for $25, so can't complain to much). The DeSoto suit I wear is a size Large, as are my Shebeest shorts, but in most of the Pearl stuff, I can go Medium. I've tried on lots of Zoot stuff, and take a Large in those.

Maybe I'm wearing my Zoot stuff too tight!    I'm 5'10", 147lbs and wear an 8 in pants.  I'm wearing the medium top and tri shorts.  Because I'm tall (and because they're a pain when you need to go!) I wanted two pieces instead of a tri suit.  I've done a sprint in my outfit and was perfectly comfortable.  I have the 6 inch inseam shorts.

Not necessarily, if it's comfortable then it's right for you! It's just my experience that women's athletic clothing tends to run a little small. (like Speedo swimsuits, who decides those sizes?? )

I'm soo glad I am not the only one that thinks swim suit sizing is way off!! I am a size 6 (can go to a 4 with some things), have a normal build, not too tall, torso is about average, and I wear a 36 suit - last Speedo was a 36 and currently in a TYR 36 as well..otherwise I spend all my time picking it out of my rear - NOT comfy!

I wear mostly Zoot tri clothes. I've found their size chart is exactly right. I'm 5'5", 145 lbs. I wear a L in their clothes, which is exactly what their chart says I should wear.

I've found SkirtSports stuff to be pretty consistent too.  I'm 5'9" and 145/150 and consistently wear a medium in just about everything they make.  I really like their tri shorts b/c they don't have a seam up the middle so they feel more like a swimsuit than a bike short.  Use the discount code REBECCAW and you can get 15% off.
